So many better places to eat in Jávea! We ordered 8 different dishes and maybe 2 were okay. Bao buns were hard and dry. I've never heard my bao buns audibly clack when hitting it with a fork. So stale. Venison tataki - meat was good but accoutrements were laughable: bare peas, hard red pickled cabbage and "japanese mayonnaise" that was simple yellow mustard with some mayo in it. Duck gyoza was good. Plantain dish was good. Vegan curry was unmemorable. Poke bowl was middling and uninspired. Worst, though, was the hamburger, which was ordered medium and after 25 minutes arrived after all the other dishes and was raw throughout. They must have forgotten about it. We asked them to cook it some more and it came back pretty much just as raw. It was spreadable, like a condiment! Food overall was embarrassingly bad. However, servers were perfectly nice and the atmosphere was clean and pretty. It's a shame and there is no way this place should have so high of a...
Read moreFood is “meh”. I booked a table here, attracted by the high rating but I must say that I was pretty dissatisfied with the quality of the food. I may have chosen the wrong things but what we tried was really not good. We started with the plantain/ banana, which was actually really good, so we were enthusiastic at what was coming but not. I ordered the salmon and my husband the chicken with peanut sauce (“kip saté) but both were really tasteless, and the fries of his dish looked old and greasy. The personnel was however very kind. Based on the food and having so many other options to eat, I do not recommend the food...
Read moreWhen you see the word "fusion", you know you are going to get somebodies interpretation of a dish, so do bear that in mind - a lot of the dishes are Asian "inspired" but not particularly authentic. That said, I love this place! Steak on a hot stone is a bit cliched but I love it, their Rendang is spectacular. Last visit I tried the vegan green curry - It tasted great, but alongside some vegetables, rice and salad (The same accompaniments as the Rendang), was a bowl of green curry sauce. I thought there might be some mushrooms, or Tofu, but no, just a bowl of sauce... it was a big plate of food for not an awful...
