I had the pleasure of dining at La Fontana in Javea recently, and I must say it was an exceptional culinary experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a wonderful evening.
Our waiter, Faisal, was an absolute gem. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were truly commendable. He made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Faisal's friendly demeanor and professionalism added a personal touch to our evening, making us feel like valued guests.
Now, let's talk about the food! The menu at La Fontana is a delightful mix of Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine, and it certainly did not disappoint. I decided to go with the tuna, and I was blown away by the quality and flavors. The tuna was perfectly seared, incredibly tender, and seasoned to perfection. It was a true seafood lover's delight.
My friends opted for the paella and the steak, and both dishes were met with rave reviews. The paella was a masterpiece, boasting a rich saffron-infused rice with an abundance of fresh seafood and flavors that transported us straight to the Mediterranean coast. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and accompanied by delectable sides that enhanced the overall dining experience.
To top it all off, we couldn't resist trying the lobster, and it was a decision we did not regret. The lobster was succulent, served with a mouthwatering sauce that added a burst of flavor to every bite. It was the perfect indulgence to complement our already outstanding meal.
The ambiance at La Fontana was cozy and inviting, with charming décor that exuded a rustic Mediterranean charm. The restaurant's attention to detail in both its food and atmosphere made it a memorable evening that I won't soon forget.
In conclusion, our dinner at La Fontana in Javea was nothing short of spectacular. From the exceptional service provided by Faisal to the delectable dishes that delighted our taste buds, it was a dining experience that exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend La Fontana to anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary journey in Javea. I really appreciated that the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded — it created a calm and enjoyable atmosphere.
For starters, I had the calamar a la plancha (grilled squid), and it was grilled to perfection. The texture was just right — tender, not chewy — and the parsley oil on top added a lovely touch. It could have used a bit more salt, but that’s easily adjusted to personal taste.
As a main course, I ordered the entrecot medium rare. In (tourist)Spain, it’s often hit or miss, (overcooked or to rare) but this one was spot-on. Perfectly cooked with a great charcoal flavor — exactly how a good steak should be.
The fries were homemade and you could really taste the difference. I’m usually a ketchup person, but these fries didn’t need any — they were that good.
To top it all off, the staff was friendly and attentive.
Overall, a perfect fine dining experience. Highly...

I came here on a hot summer evening and it’s exactly the kind of place you want by the sea – big, open, buzzing with people, but still relaxed. The menu is very Spanish, not the tourist “paella + sangría” trap you get in a lot of coastal towns. We had arroz a banda and grilled sepia – both spot on, rice cooked just right, with that proper depth of flavor you only get when the stock is made the right way. Starters were simple but good – tomatoes actually taste like tomatoes here, and the alioli had a proper kick.
Service is friendly and casual, which fits the place, though don’t come here if you’re in a rush – it’s more about long lunches or late dinners with wine flowing. Price is fair for the quality and the location right in front of the port.
If you’re in Xàbia in summer and actually want to eat the food locals would order, Posidonia...
