La Fontana in Javea is a gem that combines exquisite cuisine with a charming ambiance, creating a dining experience that is second to none. From the moment you step in, the warm and welcoming staff ensure you feel right at home. The menu is a delightful fusion of traditional Spanish dishes with a modern twist, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
I had the pleasure of trying their seafood paella, and it was nothing short of perfection. The flavors were rich and authentic, making it clear that the chefs here are passionate about their craft. The wine list is equally impressive, offering a great selection of local and international wines that complement the menu beautifully.
The restaurant’s location adds to its appeal, situated in the heart of Javea with stunning views that make for a perfect dining backdrop. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere makes La Fontana ideal for any occasion, whether it’s a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a casual meal with friends.
Overall, La Fontana Javea provides a memorable culinary experience with exceptional service, delectable food, and a picturesque setting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Javea. It truly is a must-visit destination for...
Read moreAs it was so hot we didn't have the meat or fish dishes that would have demonstrated the chefs' abilities. I had the prawn and avocado salad and my husband chose gazpacho and then chicken and pineapple salad with honey and mustard dressing, which he enjoyed. Nice waiter, slightly surly guy on reception duty, we had booked but who knows if we were on the list! It is a big place, so there are lots of tables. They were all a bit too close together for my liking, so it felt like being in a railway carriage, with waiters passing on either side of us. But I suppose they have to squeeze in as many covers as possible after the past two challenging years. As it is on the Arenal, prices are a little high for some things, for example 1.20 each for a bread roll, but of course, all restaurants are experiencing price increases for ingredients and gas/electricity. I think our salads were 11E and 9E and the gazpacho 7E, which was a bit steep given it was a small portion and no better than what you can buy in a carton at the supermarket. But overall it was a nice lunch and we...
Read moreWe have loved coming here each year for a drink or two at the end of an enjoyable evening. The cocktails are brilliant. But sadly, this year, the staff seemed intent on closing the bar very early. Everything starts being packed away at 22:00, and we feel like we are intruding by 22:15 - 22:30. I'm not sure whether it is because the staff are much younger this year, but their demeanour and service are far below what we have experienced here at this lovely bar in previous years. I'm very disappointed, and I'm sorry for the slightly negative review 😞
Since posting this review, the owner responded very quickly and his comments were much appreciated. We revisited La Fontana on Saturday (the final evening of our visit) and the staff were excellent. It was much more like we had come to expect from this super establishment. Many thanks - Saturday was a five star evening so my review is upgraded...
