We have dined in Casa Tino on numerous visits over the years and decided to phone and book a table (in the shade, as this was during the heat wave in October) for four in Casa Tino for 12.30. Food has been good in the past but service average. When we arrived, there were two tables with reserved signs on them, a table for six and a table for four. There was an elderly couple at the table for four and we were asked to wait, so we moved to the edge of the restaurant. The elderly couple, at what we assumed was to be our table, moved to a table for two nearby, in the middle of their drinks. They quickly finished their drinks and asked another diner if they could recommend a place to eat in Quemada and left. We were shown to that table, sat down when the waiter silently and gruffly sprayed and cleaned the table with a strong-smelling disinfectant. Having asked for and ordered drinks and were looking at the menu when the same waiter rudely demanded that we move to another table. We pointed out that he had just given us the table and that we had made a reservation but he insisted that we move. No apologies. Apparently, special clients were to seat at this particular table. It was then we realised the elderly couple must have been asked to move too! We decided not to stay, cancelled our drinks order and told them we weren’t happy. They could not have cared less! We proceeded to the restaurant next door and indeed were joined shortly by another couple who had been in Casa Tino and they too were appalled by the rude waiter and bad service given to the elderly couple and ourselves. Effectively within 15 minutes, Casa Tino managed to drive 8 guests out of its restaurant. A record not to be proud of! Anyway, we had a lovely meal in Restaurante Salmarina! When finished, we couldn’t resist looking to see the special guests in Casa Tino, the reserved table for four was now occupied by two diners! Lovely location, based on previous visits good food but appalling service. We won’t be going to...

What is this place, is it Asian, is it burgers, is it a bbq. The place looks amazing inside, I live the decor, the big open space above with the bird cages and flowers. There is a lot of investment here, it's a shame the service is so bad.

I'm not sure how long it has been open for, but the service was in disarray. The kitchen not speaking to the grill, different orders getting fired at different times. We got our starters and honestly the garlic prawns were some of the best I have ever tasted, absolutely superb. We then waited for 40mins for mains. I chased the waiter a few times, eventually being given a free bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Eventually the mains arrived, our steak and chicken was cold, it was even mildly warm, it had been sitting for a good 20mins. The prawn pasta was OK.

The menu is a weird one, some normal meals, some fusion meals, some weird as anything meals. The service was appalling though. Headless chickens running around. The head waiter seemed competent but lacking. After having waited so long for the mains, we were over getting the skewer refired. I think they do some things really well and some things really badly. Maybe over time it will settle to become consistent. I will try it again, if not only for the...

The first reason to visit Casa Tino is undoubtedly the unique beach-side location, offering unspoilt views of the mountains meeting the coastline in a village setting. Somewhat reminiscent of El-Golfo but without the heaps of tourists (yet). Playa Quemada is pleasantly rural and perhaps one of the few remaining destinations which has not been corrupted by the need to adapt to foreign tastes. Which leads to the reasons stay and enjoy the fabulous food and drinks. We found the food to be of typically Lanzarote fare; simple and unfussy but brimming with fresh flavours. The fish dishes are signature and the waiter explained the line-caught dish of the day. The youngsters had the choice of small dishes and my partner and I chose the black rice. We were a party of 8 and celebrated a birthday accompanied by the friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit, but don't...

We came across this by chance from a recommendation from some guests we spoke to at the hotel. It’s off the beaten track and you can access either by the beach (dusty dirt track) or by car (longer way round). We came across Casa Toni on the front. Only a couple of tables were free. Service was brisk, no messing, very to the point. Food was apparently fresh, cooked to order and pleasantly presented. We had fish croquettes, chicken and chips with side salad and a mixed salad with tuna and avocado to share. Was good plus we got to watch the kite wind surfers or paragliders as my wife calls them.

We came across this gem of a seafood restaurant on the rocky beach of Playa Quemeda. It's well off the beaten track but it's definitely worth a visit if you like seafood. All the fish is caught right in the sea next to your table. The staff are the local fishermen themselves and are very knowledgeable about what they catch. The little village itself has charm like in the wild west as if a gunfight might break out any minute as the tumbleweeds roll through the town. That's what makes the place so special.
