The food was good. The grilled fish was fresh and nice. The fish soup was really really good. But everything was wasted by the service quality that doesn't meet the bare minimum. We were 2 people coming for diner. We tried our best to speak spanish but honestly very limited. The waitress receiving us did not speak english, and when she learnt that we didn't speak spanish, she just stopped trying altogether. No attention, no smile, nothing. She didnt explain us the menu (while other foreign customers served by other waiters had full explainations). In between the order and the food coming out, she didn't even look once at our table. When we finished eating, she just let us waiting until we asked for the bill. And then she let us wait another 15 more minutes. The worst was when i tried to pay, she didn't even give me a look or a smile nor she showed me what was entered in the payment terminal. I just had to hold out my phone to pay blindly. And she sighed loudly. We were hardly the only tourists in the place, or the only ones that cannot speak spanish, but we were the sole to receive this treatment. Overall very cold and rude. The nice food does not compensate for this...
Read moreWith wine and three courses this came to about £35 per head. This is not cheap but quality, presentation, portion size, friendly and efficient service, we’re all up there. The staff were all women, mostly older. They knew their stuff and things were all just so. My fish soup came in a large soup tureen and was enough for three. The large crusty white rolls were excellent. My wife and a friend had foie gras with quince jelly. I then had grilled hake that was cooked to perfection and I shared a huge mixed salad of white onion, lettuce, olives, sliced tomatoes, grated carrot and cabbage. Less welcome were the canned asparagus, tuna and peas. This was followed by plum tart, crème caramel and an enormous splodge of cheesecake, all first rate, teas and a cortada coffee. A...
Read moreI could easily say this was the best meal we had in Spain. From our party of six two decided for the lunch especial ordering just one but it was enough for two and then some. Sorry I can't remember what it included but everything was delicious. My partner and I went for de bife de buey. It was heaven on Earth. The service was very attentive even though the place was packed. It seemed to me that is where the locals go. Across the street was a Michelin star restaurant but I am sure we made the right decision even...
