Came here for dinner recently after reading the positive reviews and I'm genuinely baffled as to how this place has got so many rave reviews. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed, but other than that it was mediocre at best.
The food looked good but quality was poor (the pork curry was in a tasty sauce but the pork itself was fatty and chewy to the point of being inedible). The wrap was bland and the accompanying chips were burnt and rock hard in the middle. No burgers available despite these being the signature dish (apparently).
The wait was insane. Over 90 minutes for two dishes. The table next to us had the same problem and we heard a few people complaining about dishes for the same tables coming out over 20 minutes apart (kind of kills the whole dining out experience).
Bizarrely, there was no cold beers available (warm only). The mojitos looked good but had very little alcohol- pet hate of mine.

Went on the off-chance having passed 101 many times over the week in Mirissa. A fantastic warm welcome and super friendly service. We had a chicken curry and a garlic grill chicken. Both dishes were very tasty and well cooked. The staff were apologetic about a minimal delay, explaining they were down to one chef. I know working anywhere in this heat and humidity is tough, but in a kitchen! What it did confirm was that the food was cooked fresh. One table close to us had a prawn dish the looked amazing and a very substantial amount of prawns. Hats off to the couple who manged to clear their plate with the help of several Lions! The food other guests had looked good and all customers seemed happy.
Happy to recommend 101 for anyone staying in Mirissa or passing through. Our meal, including wines and beers was around £15 per person.

This was by far the best food we have had so far in Sri Lanka! Their menu is 90% sea food, but I ordered the Thai Chicken Sathe (hope i spellt that right. Photo attached, but I suck at photography so it looks a lot better in reality) and it was CRAZY good! If you love spicy food, do yourself a favor and try it, you won't regret it!
The waiters were super nice and after 2 minutes of us getting the food, they already checked in on us to see if everything was as expected (and I'm pretty sure to see if the european dude is already sweating from the heat 😁).
I would say the price is totally fine for the portions we got - we got 2 main courses and 2 fresh juices for 9000 LKR (=~27€).
