Comfortable room overlooking the beautiful beach with turtles and good food. Room: Stayed for 2 nights in Deluxe Sea-front (2 king size beds, aircon, attached toilet, balcony). Was on the 2nd level of a 4-storey building just next to the restaurant, had to walk up the stairs. Has a kettle and mini fridge. Blanket was thin, had to use the beach towel on top of it. Getting around: - We asked their in-house Tuk Tuk to bring us around. Baatu is very experienced, even kindly stayed on when we were at a farm tour to help with some translation. - They also arranged the van to the airport for our flight home. Food: - 4 types of breakfast at their restaurant, opens at 8:30am. For Sri Lankan breakfast, need to order in advance (wish we were told 🥲). - breakfast served was good! Muesli came with plenty of fruits. Beach: - sheltered lagoon right in front with about 6 turtles swimming around, there were some tourists feeding sea grass to them. - could rent snorkel goggles to use. - sand and waters were clean, quite clear. Location: Short Tuk Tuk drive to Galle Fort, has a small but well-stocked grocery store within walking distance (Damindu’s Food Corner). Payment: 50% of room rate via bank transfer before check in, could pay balance in rupee or credit card after check in. Airport transfer paid in rupees to driver on arrival to airport. Cons: No dedicated staff for the guesthouse. When we arrived, had to ask around then one guy (who cleans the rooms) brought us to our room, could only speak very simple English. We had to keep walking down to the bar and ask around the staff to get the information we need - Such as what to do for our 2 breakfast - we had to depart just as their restaurant open at 8:30am, and had to leave 6:30am the following morning for the airport (info made known to them at point of reservation). Room rate paid was for bed and breakfast. Eventually they made cheese sandwich and a tub of cut tropical fruits that we obtained the night before check out.

The only thing special about the place is the beach and the surrounding. Food is bad except for their pizza. Pizza is somewhat ok and tasty. Food is overpriced and they're showing in USD($) and they have a daily USD to LKR conversion of their own. A pizza is about LKR 2100 at this time of writing. A fresh juice is about LKR 900. I had a tasteless risotto for LKR 2700. Had a free breakfast with old toast and had no juice, sausages or anything. Accommodation is ok but you don't feel safe with the staff. They are not professionals or trained. Don't expect to get the same customer service you get when you check in to a Hotel or a Motel. They don't bother to greet you or kindly talk to you, except for some of them (there was a couple of staff member who passed the good vibe check) but overall they looks like they're just angry that we came to stay 🤔 In order to book a room, you have to call/whatsapp the number on their IG/website. Prices on the website are wrong/not have been updated. You have to deposit the full amount they say into their bank account in order for them to make a room reservation for you. Rooms are good in condition but you don't get anything extra, it's just the room. No telephone, no room service, not even soap. There was a liquid somewhat like shower gel, that was it. No coffee, milk (only some tea bags and sugar) Best time to visit is November to April (this is when the sea is calm and steady. Turtles can be seen here very often. Unlike the restaurant, the beach is super good and worth a visit. Wijaya Beach is I'm afraid not recommended and I will not stay again.

Rain or shine, we always find ourselves at this little pizza joint. It's like a magnet, drawing us in with the promise of delicious, mouth-watering slices. And let me tell you, it never disappoints. We stumble in, wet from the rain and craving something warm and comforting. And what's more comforting than pizza? We order up some seafood pizza, and I swear I can feel the ocean waves crashing against my taste buds. It's like a party in my mouth, with each bite better than the last. And let's not forget the beer. There's something about a cold brew on a rainy day that just hits different. It's like a warm hug from an old friend, comforting and familiar. But the real star of the show? The mango curry rice. It's like a symphony of flavors, with the sweetness of the mango perfectly balanced by the spicy kick of the curry. It's like a flavor explosion in your mouth. And what's better than a delicious meal after a swim in the ocean? It's like we're living our best lives, indulging in good food and good company. In this moment, I realize that life is all about balance. It's about the ups and downs, the rainy days and the sunny ones. But no matter what, there's always something to be grateful for. Like delicious pizza, cold beer, and a warm bowl of mango curry rice. So let's enjoy the ride, rain or shine.

S6ay here. Trust me. Thank me later. :)

I am a world traveler, beach loving laid back kinda down to earth nature lover. I am a yogi and health freak but I also have a side of me that likes to dabble in some cocktails and conversation and yummy less than totally healthy nibbles. So this spot is for both. Great for solo travellers, romantic for couples, fun for families and you can practically touch the water from your room. It sits on the lbeach also which many do not here, genuine beach access not one you have to walk on a road for because it doesn't sit on a cliff or pile of rocks. You can take your coconut water or cocktail 2 steps to the sand.

I am slo struggling with a cleanliness obsession, haha. The rooms could not possibly be cleaner.. Great showers, super hot water, nice linens and attractive eco chic minimalist decor. The AC is so powerful I run it only for a few minutes then turn it off and the room stays cool for hours.

You can hear the waves rearing from your room and not much else :) I am a swimmer and love lonnnng beach walks also. This beach satisfies both and you will not be bothered on the beach with people trying to sell things.....IT is clean, safe and quiet.

Everyone raves about the pizza and all the food also.

What else can I tell you? I is close to everything in terms of sights and shops and those tourist trappy overpriced non Sri lankan generic experiences if that is your craving.... but really you should just be here when you are here and surrender to the sunsets and simplicity and avoid the busier areas. If you seek them though, shopping, Galle etc is a short tie tie away.

Great yoga is down the road and affiliated with the sanctuary. You can join a class or receive private instruction.

If you want to be super active the guys will take care of you and you can surf, dive, snorkel, see the sights and all of that. It is about 2 hours drive from Colombo also if that is important.

The team who work here, the restaurant, the beach, the location, the rooms, really every single thing in my experienced opinion is among the best.

I am so happy to have been directed here by local friends, and so grateful for everyone here's attention and care. I will be sad to leave and look forward...

Nestled along the pristine shores of unawatuna , [Hotel Name] is a beachfront oasis that offers not only luxurious accommodations but also an unparalleled dining experience. During my recent stay, I had the pleasure of indulging in the finest pizza and sashimi at the hotel's renowned restaurant, making my visit truly unforgettable.

From the moment I stepped into Wijaya beach, I was captivated by its serene ambiance and breathtaking ocean views. The sound of crashing waves and the gentle sea breeze created the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The hotel's stylish decor and impeccable attention to detail added to the overall charm, making me feel instantly at home.

As a food enthusiast, I was eager to sample the culinary offerings at [Hotel Name], and I was not disappointed. The restaurant, overlooking the azure waters of the ocean, offered a tantalizing menu that showcased the best of both Italian and Japanese cuisine. The pizza, freshly baked in a wood-fired oven, was a true masterpiece - crispy crust, flavorful toppings, and the perfect balance of cheese and sauce. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more.

Equally impressive was the sashimi selection, which featured an array of impeccably fresh and expertly sliced fish. From buttery tuna to delicate salmon, every piece melted in my mouth, showcasing the chef's dedication to sourcing the finest ingredients and executing flawless preparation.

Beyond the exceptional dining experience, Wijaya beach also boasts luxurious accommodations and world-class amenities. My room, elegantly appointed and offering breathtaking ocean views, provided the perfect sanctuary after a day of indulgence. Whether lounging by the infinity pool, unwinding at the spa, or taking a leisurely stroll along the pristine beach, there was no shortage of ways to relax and rejuvenate at...
