Sudda's Beach Restaurant — Restaurant in Sri Lanka

This is a fantastic seaside spot in Dehiwala that offers a laid-back and enjoyable experience for families, friends, and even work colleagues looking to unwind by the ocean. The restaurant is situated right on the beach, providing a beautiful view of the sea and a refreshing breeze that enhances the relaxed atmosphere. Guests can choose to dine inside or enjoy the more casual, open-air setting directly on the sand—perfect for watching the sunset while enjoying a meal.

One of the standout features of this venue is that guests are welcome to bring their own liquor without being charged a corkage fee, which is a rare and budget-friendly perk. While there is no official parking lot, street parking is generally available nearby and free of charge, which makes access fairly convenient.

Reservations are not necessary, as the space is usually ample—especially if the weather is clear. During our last visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the noticeable improvement in service speed and overall attentiveness of the staff. It made the experience even more enjoyable.

This is hidden gem for us for hangovers. Yes this is located the beach range and not up to standard like Barracuda and Stations. But considering the prices you have to pay the mentioned restaurants comparing to Sudda is really high (service charges + taxes). You don’t have direct access to the restaurant you have to cross the railway by walking. They don’t have separate car park, you just have to park alongside the road. Nobody to take care of yout vehicle (negative point). Be very careful while crossing the railway. Seating not comfortable they just have plastic chairs. Few carbana like huts available (2 or 3). If you ask seating near beach they will arrange for you. Considering the food, all bites moderately good, portions bit larger comparing to others restaurant near beach side. The view you get is amazing while you at Suddas beach restaurant. You can go with your own liquor bottles, they don’t sell those and they only charge for bites not for the bottle you go with.
