Unpleasant Dining Experience
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Steakhouse Gävle that left a lot to be desired. The concept of serving steak on a hot stone with accompanying french fries seemed intriguing, but unfortunately, the execution fell short.
From the moment I sat down, the service was lacking professionalism. The waiter hurriedly asked for my drink order before I had even glanced at the menu. It felt intrusive and rushed, leaving me with the impression that I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer.
To make matters worse, when it came time to settle the bill, the waiter stood behind me, waiting impatiently for payment. The expectation for a generous tip was quite apparent, and it felt uncomfortable to be stared at in such a manner. This behavior only added to the overall sense of unease and made me question the level of customer service at the establishment.
Furthermore, the lack of customers on a Saturday evening was concerning. A restaurant's popularity often reflects the quality of its food and service, and the emptiness raised doubts about the restaurant's reputation.
Regrettably, the dining experience did not live up to expectations. The steak itself was mediocre, lacking the desired tenderness and flavor. The accompanying fries were disappointing and seemed to be of low quality. Overall, the culinary experience fell short of what was initially anticipated.
Given the unprofessional service, the lack of customers, and the underwhelming food, I have no intention of returning to this restaurant. I hope that the management takes note of these shortcomings and implements the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for...
Read moreWe stopped here for dinner over the XMas period and, even though the city was very quiet, there were a enough people in the restaurant to give it atmosphere. Overall, we had a fantastic experience - the food was amazing and the service was very friendly and polite (and available in English).
The steak / main part of the food is served on a very hot black stone that stays hot for about an hour while you eat. I had the tuna steak, which was of fantastic quality, and it was great to be able to cut it into about 5 pieces and cook them individually to my liking. This meant each piece was always hot when I ate it. My wife had the vegesteak, which was very similar to vegeburgers, but it was still nice to keep them heated the whole meal, even if you don’t really cook them the same way.
We both had the Chocolate Bomb for desert (which is available without nuts on request) and it was great - a nice mix of flavours on the plate. We will definitely look for Blackstone venues on future trips around Sweden and we are sad that there doesn’t appear to be one in Stockholm, as we would definitely go if...
Read moreI went there with my girlfriend for valentine's day and there was a crying baby for more than half the time we were there. Although we didn't complain to the staff, they didn't say anything to the parents to make the situation a bit nicer for the rest of the guests. They have been very nice however and let us switch table to a more comfortable one. Regarding the food, it wasn't worth the price, I got Ryggbiff with a baked potato. The baked potato was closer to a boiled potato with dried peel than anything else. The meat was 200g according to the menu and it was definitely not enough considering that it isn't a super expensive cut, was very lean and served mostly raw, as you are supposed to cook it on your hot stone. My girlfriend got a pizza and the dough was dry and overcooked. Don't go to this place for the pizza.
In general we feel like most of what we spent went into the atmosphere and the hot stone gimmick rather...
