Stångs Magasin — Restaurant in Linköpings kommun

As a company of 7 we had a reservation for the annual christmas table. We all went in with high expectations and good first impressions. Cozy atmosphere and good reception. Unfortunately the experience as a whole was a bit of a letdown. The selection of foods was OK. Just what you would expect for a traditional christmas table, nothing more, nothing less. We were unfortunate enough to have booked the last sitting which turned out to be a mistake. Half way through the serving period the staff started putting away the main courses and cleaning up the serving area (moving tables, packing dishes...). By this time we were left to turn to the deserts which were still not put away. Where some plates had been picked clean we kindly asked for refills but were told that there was no refills left.

We ended up leaving before the end of the serving period since there was really nothing left of the actual...

We had dinner here. Good stuff: nice environment; restaurant offered free bread as we sat down and they tasted delicious. There were also free appetizers offered, with goat cheese and eggplant sauce - also delicious and refreshing, and made us feel welcomed. We had shrimp sandwich and raw beef for starters. Both were well presented and tasted as expected. For dessert we took chocolate cake with fresh raspberries and raspberry ice cream. It came in good portion and tasted very much decent. Raspberries were juicy and tasty. What fell below expectation was the main courses. Fried fish reminded us too much of KFC or any fish-and-chips place. Fried cheese was also very heavy. The fried coating overwhelmed taste of the cheese. In addition, bathroom could definitely be cleaner. Overall we’d say it’s a decent place, but not meeting the expectation given the...

I travel to Linköping on a regular base and my swedish colleagues always told me the Stångs is the restaurant to visit. As a consequence my expectations were quite high.

Regarding food i was not disappointed. Presentation and taste was very good. Exactly what i expected!

What really disappointed me and destroyed the whole experience was the cold atmosphere from the staff. After getting seated we waited nearly 30min. During that time nobody was taking care about us. The neighbor tables which came later than use already got the first servings. When i politely asked the young waitress that we where ready to order she got annoyed for the rest of the evening. You should really improve on this.

When it comes to food i really would like to return but i have no desire to experience such a lousy...
