The food was great, maybe borderline too salty compared to other Indian restaurants. You'll definitely not leave here hungry as the size of the dishes seemed to range from "I'm able to breath normally" to "ugh I shouldn't have eaten that last chicken". I had the Chicken Vindaloo, and I'll have to say that the lack of spiciness (again, compared to other restaurants) was a bit disappointing. Still good, but you would kinda expect the hottest meal in the menu to pack a punch.
Worth mentioning is that the tables are a bit too crammed for a typical dinner. We had booked a table for four and had some trouble having enough room for just the three of us. I actually couldn't fit a plate on the table as seen in my Vindaloo picture above, so I just ate from the serving thing instead. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere kitschy. The food is nicely prepared and presented, yet lacks something important - the spice! If you want it spicy you firmly have to tell the staff so. Even though I ordered the Chowkeeng beef, labels with three chilis, the dish was mostly sweet and smooth, without a hint of any burning/spicy sensation.
So please visit, but if you want it spicy,...
Read moreWe stumbled in here on Saturday night after other places in town were full, and we really glad we did! The lady running the place was wonderful - very friendly and made us laugh a lot. She gave us recommendations and was very helpful. The food was surprisingly good! We are quite spoiled in the UK with excellent authentic Asian food so were a little apprehensive (it was strange to us to have Chinese, Indian and Korean on one menu!) but it was really tasty and fresh, with tender meat, perfectly cooked veg and a surprising amount of spice. Manchurian chicken in particular was awesome. If we are back we...
