Franchise but the O'Learys places are generally ok. Pricey given that they serve pub food, and not the gastro variety, but it's not bad. This place was though.
Their opening hours, if I'm not mistaken, seem to be lunch on weekdays and the hours before and after Malmö FF games, so it appears you can't count on them being open if you're looking to catch, say, a Premier League game or something. Which is odd for a sports bar.
And during my visit they didn't even serve their regular menu. Only standard burger + fries and a barbecue buffet of sorts, with veggies, coleslaw and so on. And it was not good. For 250 SEK (roughly 25 euros) I expect way more than dry ribs, dry veggies, coleslaw that doesn't really taste much at all etc. The chicken wings were pretty good but that's about it. And the service was soo slow. Granted, the place was crowded but having to wait in line for 15 - 20 minutes at the bar to order a beer is never ever ok. Not even close. It was like the staff weren't used to running a crowded place, as if the process wasn't in place. Which is weird 'cause if they're open around Malmö FF games they should have serving beer to large amounts of football fans down. But no.
If you for some reason have to visit an O'Learys in Malmö I'd recommend the one at Malmö C. It's ok. But if you want to catch a game, go...
Read moreTook the bowling package (early 2022). This includes one hour of bowling and lunch thereafter. The lunch menu for the bowling package was distinct from the regular lunch menu. For instance, there were just three items available as main course- cheddar cheese burger, Ceasar salad and fish and chips. The cheeseburger was also available as vegetarian or vegan, mind you. The menu may have had been more variegated, for the overall price of the bowling package paid. Desserts too had to be ordered distinctly from the bowling package lunch menu, owing to seeking more options. This was at an added price. The desserts were excellent, though! The burgers not as great as Hard Rock CPH. Bowling was also very enjoyable. Perhaps, too many LCD screens showing sports, crowding the premises. The waiting staff included some provincial Swedish girls who seemed snooty and high-handed. All in all, given this is Malmö, a bearable experience for expats, including families with young ones and grandparents alike- similar to us. Provided, you can take the slightly overpriced service from some haughty staff in slightly dingy...
Read moreThis place has the worst food and service. Right from the start the staff was snooty and we actually didn't feel welcomed at all. The waiter reluctantly took our order and then we waited for over an hour just for the starters. This even after telling the waiter we had bowling lanes booked. The food was awful and the servings incomplete. The chicken was rancid! My son who ate some of the chicken and got so ill we had to stop by the emergency room on the way home. I wrote O'Leary's on FaceBook and is STILL waiting for an apology. Worst customer service...
