Hi! We visited you around the 7th of June 2024. 3rd time visiting during a period of 1 year. Earlier we have dined outside in the outdoor seating area and at one other occasion ordered takeout pizza. Both times normal experiences. Pizza was at both times tasty and above average.
We dined in this time, inside in the actual restaurant area. We had booked a table to celebrate an important event with the whole family and upon arrival was shown a table very close to the entrance door, even though there was a lot of other available tables (that were not filled during our visit). Not a great location since it was very windy/drafty and cold that day from the open door, nobody from the staff asked if the cold/wind was bothering us. We asked if there was any other table available but they were all reserved was the reply. But like I said, during our entire stay other tables did not receive any guests so we could have been seated somewhere else.
Mediocre and hardly attentive staff during the whole visit. I would say also inexperienced/not thought how to help customers and give the best possible service. Took a long time before we could get someone’s attention to be able to order. We didn’t receive our food all at the same time. Both for the starters and the mains. One person should not be half finished when another just receives their food! We made the staff aware of this and asked what was going on but they just replied with “this is normal and the food will soon arrive”…?!?!?
The food was very tasteless and bland, made you wonder if some ingredients / all spices and herbs etc were missing? New chef? Chef had a really bad day / was distracted?? We had the same experience for both pizza and pasta dishes. And starters. A few of us for example had the salsiccia e peperoni pizza which is the worst pizza I ever had in my entire life. No taste what so ever. Looked very unpleasant and one would assume with this name there would be some good flavors, but totally tasteless. The sausages had seemingly been opened and mashed and then place in small “islands” on the pizza which didn’t look appealing at all. We told a waiter about our experience and he just answered “this is the way it is supposed to be”. Didn’t offer anything to try and help the situation and make his customers happy. I have worked in various great restaurants through the years and I know it is super easy to turn a situation like this around so the customers will leave happy. But no interest at all… No one from the staff came to ask any questions during dining. Didn’t ask if we wanted more to drink, or if we were happy with the food, or if we would like to order dessert/coffee etc etc. Every time we had to wave for staff or even get up to go and fetch someone from the staff to get help. Unacceptable when at a nice place like this. Total rip off in comparison to what we received and left with a bad feeling from the impact of neglect of service and the disappointment of the food that was not at all the same standard as during previous visits. It will take a long time before I can take a chance and eat anything from this...
Read moreThank you Osteria Qui for a great dinner experience! Very glad there is an Italian restaurant in Malmö that realizes how simple it is to serve authentic Italian dishes that are vegan. So many Italian pasta dishes are already free from meat, egg and dairy - Pomodori, Arrabiata, Aglio e olio to name a few. And dried pasta is usually egg free. Still, At Di Penco they serve horrible gluten free pasta to vegans (why?) with a watery, cold tomato sauce straight from the freezer. At Dal Sud, no vegan pasta offered (even though they sell Rummo’s dried pasta at the very restaurant!). At Via Napoli they can’t offer a vegan pasta dish even with two days’ notice! At Qui - no problem at all, and a range of dishes to choose from. On top of that, the food was delicious! And the pasta home-made. I have a feeling a lot of customers (and reviewers) do not understand or fully appreciate the work behind your dishes. The fact that you have a range of home-made pasta forms is already rare in this city (among the three Italian restaurants mentioned above only Di Penco make their own pasta). Service was a bit confused, we had to remind the waiters twice that about both olives and bread. But with a friendly staff and delicious food that’s no biggie. All in all we were very happy and looking forward to...
Read moreSeems as cute place in the area but it is not that welcoming as it looks like. Basically, even w/o corona and necessity to keep the distance it is impossible in such place as they have squezzed so many tables in small space so you end up very close to each other people tables. The food is sooo average, there is much better Italian place almost in the same area where they really treat you as a guest and valid customer. Manager or what ever that individual represents is someone whom I have discussed over the phone nice birthday surprise for my boyfriend and out of two things that we have agreed on the phone, none was delivered on the spot! So unprofessional! I was in shock, and he didn't even offer an excuse or apologize. He runs around as some lunatic brining so much nervous energy around the place. The only good thing was waiter! P.S: To be avoided, and will let all my friends, colleagues and acquittances not...
