You will chose from, and order your meal from, a pretty simple menu, homemade, printed paper in a paperclip. (This is probably to lower your expectations)
The menu will be handed over by a correct waiter/waitress. And he/she will take your order without hasitation. (My foodallergy made us to make really big changes to the meals we ordered , and there was not a single problem) (they made every change)
So. We ordered. And started waiting. Water and wine was served. We THEN said to eachother: lets have appetizers........ So we waved for the waiter, and he knew our meals where to be served in just minutes so our "pre-food-drinks" where at our table half a minute after we ordered them.
And then came the food. Ill say it once again. And Then Came THE FOOD. You will NOT start your meal , at this restaurant, by FIRST photographing it for your different social media’s. You WILL START EATING. You will forget all about taking pictures.
Because, you will think you are in Italy/Sicily. You will almost even think that you not only traveled to Italy, you will also think that you have travelled back in time. The autentical taste. The surroundings. The interior. The music. The crowded, always to the last seat, restaurant, and also how you would be treated by its personel. Everything could be Sicily 1990.
My hope is that nothing will change until my next visit, and next, and next after that. I live 2 hours away, so I don’t know when I’ll be able to revisit this restaurant. I hope they KEep it as it is. Keep everything just the way they were. This is WHAT YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE when you go to an italian resturant. You WILL GET IT here. In Malmoe. Whitout a timetravelingmachine.
This is what you will long to return to.
You will come back. You will try the rest of the menu just to have the realistic "timetravel and bordercrossing feeling" (and tastes) just for the moment/night.
And you will maybe even try to stay a little longer in the illusion, stay as long as possible. So you will order you espresso and dessert and maybe also a grappa as we did, just to make the moment last. A little moment longer.......
Dont miss out on this. Dont miss out this opportunity. There is not so many real italian resturants, like thisone, anymore.
You will probably find a more modern resturant , yes. Or more luxorius. Or refined. Or hip and expensive. But, is THAT really what you are looking for ??? None of those things will have you go back in time the way you can, at this restaurant.
I Would have put 10 stars rating , if I could, but there is only 5...

Authentic Neapolitan pizza is the star at Via Napoli. The menu offers a wide variety of pizzas made with certified ingredients such as San Marzano tomatoes, Fior di Latte, Burrata, and Grana Padano. Each pizza is baked in a traditional wood-fired oven, beautifully decorated with colorful tiles and a double-chamber design. This oven not only adds visual charm but also ensures the signature flavor and texture of real Neapolitan pizza—crispy, airy crust with a slightly charred edge.
Top recommendation: Prosciutto San Daniele & Burrata (210 SEK). This pizza is a perfect balance of flavors: high-quality San Daniele prosciutto, creamy Burrata, arugula, black olives, and shredded Grana Padano. The dough is light and flavorful—definitely one of the best options on the menu.
The pasta selection is quite limited. One noticeable downside is the lack of variety in the pasta menu. While the available options—like the Paccheri with beef and porcini mushrooms—are well-prepared and rich in flavor, the menu does not include traditional pasta types like spaghetti, linguine, or tagliatelle. This may disappoint diners looking for more classic Italian options.
Pasta dishes currently offered include: • Paccheri with beef, porcini mushrooms, and truffle cream • Ravioli with porcini mushrooms and pistachio • Classic lasagna with Swedish beef • Mezze maniche with seafood • Busiate with Argentine shrimp and pistachio
All are gourmet-style, but none feature long or traditional pasta shapes.
Service is generally good, but could improve. Staff were professional and timely, but the overall interaction felt a bit distant. A more engaging and welcoming approach would enhance the dining experience.
Highlights: • Excellent pizza quality and authentic preparation • Visually striking wood-fired oven that enhances flavor and atmosphere • Creative and high-quality pizza combinations • Fair pricing for the quality offered
Areas for improvement: • Expand the pasta menu with classic options • Increase warmth and attentiveness in the service • Dessert options were not shown or offered clearly
Conclusion: Via Napoli stands out as one of the best places in Malmö for genuine Neapolitan pizza. The quality of ingredients, the craftsmanship of the dough, and the impressive wood-fired oven all contribute to a top-tier pizza experience. While the pasta selection is more limited and upscale, the restaurant is well worth visiting—especially if you’re...
Read moreI seriously can't understand how people like this restaurant. We live nearby and have tried it several times, both having dinner there and takeaway, and every time we are more disappointed. Now I am forced to leave a review because the last time we tried we even got sick from the pizzas!
The pizzas are not that good, the dough is chewy and the ingredients are not always fresh (as our stomachs pointed out). Hard to get sick from Pizza you'd think, but Via Napoli can do it! No self-respecting Italian would ever endorse these pizzas I'm sure.
The restaurant itself is average, and the service is terrible (once we waited for our pizzas for over an hour and when we complained the waiter was rude and didn't apologise at all). All the waiters are always super busy and it's more of a 'money making' place rather than taking care of clients that are having dinner to ensure they come back.
They are expensive for an average pizza place (as mentioned, their pizzas are not that good, and are not worth the price - you can get better pizza for way cheaper in Malmö). Also - when eating there we were charged for TAP WATER. That should just be illegal.
Overall, I have truly no idea how people can like this place. Seriously, go spend your money at another place, this restaurant is...
