Ölstugan Gull-Olle — Restaurant in Norrköpings kommun

I cannot rave enough about this place, it is truly a gem! Let me explain.

The food was so good, I ordered two main courses, finished both (!!), and paired them with a sparkling bottle of Cava.

I had the Goulash soup, which was paired with three sliced of white bread (roll, not sandwich loaf). Everything single thing about this dish to the tiniest detail is AUTHENTIC. Not just authentic to the dish itself, but in the traditional means if the fish. The Goulash was of my personal favourite: the Bavarian variety. I am drooling just thinking of the taste!

Next, I enjoyed a pork shoulder (broiled style, seared in the end prior to serving) that comes with traditional and authentic sauerkraut, as well as the most amazing potatoes - I am absolutely not kidding! Not exaggerating: the potatoes were so tender, spongy with just the right chew, it could be compared with scallops (as in the seafood). The sauerkraut is in the traditional and authentic manner: warm and slightly soupy. It was beautiful and the perfect match in taste and ingredients to the pork shoulder, potatoes and stone-ground, home-made mustard sauce.

So hungry and excited about the food, I forgot to take pics if the dishes, please forgive this faux pas. I have not been this inspired, drunk-happy (no, not from the alcohol, I promise!) and unable to stop smiling since 20 years ago. This may be a love letter to the restaurant and their superiorly talented chef, but they are worth the praise, success, business and raving reviews that they get! Not only is the food amazing, the business ethic is THE ideal, service is excellent, rotating menu is as exciting as their specials, and their decor provides a special charm to the overall aura of this restaurant.

I had such a great experience at this cozy restaurant bar. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon or evening. I ordered the råraka, and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly crispy and satisfying. What really made the visit stand out was the service. The waiter was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, especially when it came to their beer selection. He recommended some amazing options, and I can honestly say I had the best IPAs of my life here! Especially Number 6 (Fruitesse) and Number 8 (Classic Neapolitan singel scoop): both were absolutely unforgettable. If you’re in Norrköping and love good food and great beer, this place is a must. Innan tåget mot Ljusdal skulle gå igår kväll strax innan 18 gick jag och några vänner in på Gull-Olle för att äta. Jag hade läst recensionerna på Google Maps, och bestämde mig för att chansa och göra reklam för mina vänner att vi borde äta där. Det var inget större risktagande från min sida. Snarare match mot öppet mål!

Lokalen är gemytlig och inbjudande. God ordning på det mesta i lokalen. Personalen som jobbar där är vänliga, sociala och måna om att gästerna har det bra. Jag är inte kunnig om hur forna ölstugor var, men jag tror att Gull-Olle gestaltar dem bra. Gull-Olle har ett rikt utbud av olika sorters öl på fat, så det finns en god möjlighet att både den mer kräsne öl-konnässören och den vanlige ölälskaren kan hitta nån dryck att fukta strupen med. Nu till det viktigaste för de hungrande: Maten!

Jag beställde en fläskschnitzel. När den kom till bordet var det första man märkte att portionen var stor! Redan där radade betygstjärnorna upp sig för tjänstgöring! Jag gillar verkligen inte när man har några vilsekommna ingredienser på varsin sida om en spricka i tallriken som tydligen var sås. När smakkombinationen välstekt schnitzel, tartarsås, kapris och rödvinssås nådde munnen blev det blixtknock strax efter att gong-gongen ringde in första ronden! Snacka om "Match made in heaven"!

5 stjärnor känns aningen begränsat i detta fall så därför kan jag med glädje sätta betyget, och varmt rekommendera alla som besöker Norrköping att gå in och uppleva Gull-Olles utbud av mat och dryck! Om jag kommer till Norrköping igen så vet i alla fall jag vart jag ska gå!
