Not sure if I caught the chef on a bad night but uh… not sure where the overall 4.7 star rating came from…
Ordered the Tonkatsu ramen. The eggs were plain boiled and also broken as per image, the yolk ended up leaking into my broth creating an eggy porridge. Pork belly tasted over-marinated in.. miso, making it taste extremely salty. Traditionally it’s simmered in soy sauce and seared. The pork belly here tasted pan fried.
Also the broth was super diluted and plain tasting. Only adding chilli flakes could salvage it.
The ramen noodles were ok, on the soft side which is fine. Felt like the place was more Korean than Jap.
I really don't know if this is the standard in Europe for ramen man but it is extremely low. I dont know where all these “best ramen i’ve had” reviews are coming from.
Also the customer service was questionable and they seemed to not care about greeting or directing me where to sit. Staff seemed young and a very “ceebs” attitude. Def not authentic Japanese culture.
I hope you guys improve your food....
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem. Everything was perfect. Prices are super reasonable, portions are good, the decor is lovely, service is prompt, but the real star is the taste. We ordered the karaage, gyoza, and a tempura deluxe sushi roll. Everything was sublime. It's been a while since I've had love at first bite, and today Mirai delivered. Will absolutely be my go-to sushi/Japanese place from here on. I'm still thinking of it hours later...seriously this place has earned its high rating!
P.S. I lived in Japan, studied there and have visited many times over the years. None of our dishes were what I would describe as "authentic" (the gyoza was pretty standard fare). What they were is fresh, high quality, perfectly balanced, flavorful, and delightful with every bite. It was the best sushi I've had so far in Stockholm and I'd happily eat it on the regular. 5 stars on...
Read moreThe service here is terrible. Not sure if it’s just Sweden in general. They won’t bring you utensils and they won’t even bother telling you that you should go get it from the counter inside which is in a corner and easy to overlook if you’re the first time here. Even after they bring you your food, they don’t tell you where the utensils are. The people here in Sweden are just so unfriendly, unwelcoming, unhelpful, extremely cold and rude.
The ramen noodles get soggy super fast. I was looking forward to some authentic Japanese cuisine but the ramen noodles aren’t great. The sushi was...
