Police Museum — Attraction in Stockholm

Short summary; a little bit of a disappointment. This is a more of an exhibition than a real museum, rather small. It tries to cater to both children and adults, and thatś where I feel that it lets both groups down and comes out as an odd compromise. When we visited there where only children with parents visiting, no single adults or adult groups. We walked through the exhibition in about 25 minutes, a 2.5 year old and I. There are two old police cars and two new, and a police motorcycle. There is alot of pictures accompanied with headphones with info, a concept that feels dated and unsocial and definitely not for kids. At the exit there is a play corner with LEGO, so we could stay another hour. But frankly, we got better LEGO at home. The best age to visit this place is probably around 4-5 years old. But even then do you really want to visit the serial rapist booth? Personnel where friendly but a tad bit uncommitted. There where tons of old police uniforms on display, why not wear one and contribute to the show and atmosphere...

The museum is not so interesting per se... specially for kids, it’s even a bit boring! But the police cars and mc is cool, there’s also a good indoor playroom for kids. If it’s good weather, the outdoor playing area is also fun. Without these playing areas and Police Cars, it would have been a boring museum. The guided tour (for kids) about traffic was good too. Trevligt museum med billigt inträde. Endast 60 kronor att gå in för en vuxen. Museet är lagom stort och tar en till två timmar att kika igenom om en är någorlunda noggrann. Här finns flera intressanta föremål från kända brott i Sverige. Bland annat från mordet på Anna Lindh och Norrmalmstorgsdramat.

I övrigt finns det olika utställningar. När jag var här var det bland annat en om hatbrott och en om identifiering med mera.

Under vissa tider är det visningar med olika teman. När jag var här var det en intressant visning om Norrmalmstorgsdramat. Där även de ökända snarorna visades upp.

Så långt var allt utmärkt. Däremot finns det missvisande information i hatbrottsdelen. Museet bör verkligen se över informationen om bränder på asylboenden 2015. Det med hänvisning till MSB:s lägesbeskrivning kring bränder på asylboenden från 2016-06-13. Det förefaller i utställningen som att många fler bränder var anlagda utifrån än vad som överensstämmer med verkligheten. Ett museum måste vara noggrann med fakta.

I övrigt är museet väl anpassat för barn, men har ingen restaurang. Det finns dock på andra...
