Mama Viet in Täby — Restaurant in Täby kommun

We've been back a few times since we first went here and the food is consistently decent and for the price, it's actually one of the better value Vietnamese places in the great Stockholm area. The bánh xèo still needs a bit more veggies, but it's the best we've had in Sweden so far. Other dishes are also good, but pick authentic dishes and not the ones that are made for the locals.

2023 review Tried this place on a whim, didn't look that promising and the staff at the ordering counter was not what you'd call helpful. However, it turns out that the food is fairly authentic, with the bánh xèo being nice and crispy, but it needed a bit more veggies in the filling to be spot on. The bánh mì needs paté and maynaise, plus the meat needed more seasoning, but overall not bad from a place in a food court in a Stockholm suburb. The nước chấm lacked flavour though, which was a shame. Overall a better meal than we expected. Ordered vegan fresh spring rolls and after eating one I noticed the shrimp. Don't trust this place with your allergies and food preferences, they clearly either don't know or they don't care. In other words: bring your epinephrine and be ready for anaphylaxis.

I got the meal replaced without apology and the flavors were very bland no matter how much sriracha I added.

Fun coincidence: The last time I ordered vegan food and was served meat was about two years prior to my visit to Mama Viet at the restaurant NEXT TO IT. The sad burger joint I can't remember the name of. Maybe the incompetence...

Really nice staff. Wearing masks on COVID is great. Foodnis prepared fresh less risky. Big portions. A bit plain taste comparing to real Vietnamese food. But otherwise it's nice.

Located conveniently in entry of shopping centre and also in front of the grocery store. So you can get a nice takeaway home. Keep going but add to basic menu from tome to time, how about yellow, green, red...
