Very nice atmosphere, with lovely printed pictures of Iran's pre-revolutionary royalties all over the walls, even Lion and Sun flags on each corner inside the restaurant, and printed pictures of paintings on the ceilings as well. There were other cute decorative elements too, which made it a bit crowdy. (Some of the framed pictures were printed with very low pixel resolution). Service was good.
Now, the food we ordered tasted from below to average, except for the Afghani speciality Ghabeli polo and the classic Persian Soltani. The Ghorme Sabzi tasted like a microwave heated canned industrial Ghorme Sabzi. It tasted absolutely ghastly! The Fensendjan was suspiciously red, as if they added tomato puree which is an absolute no no! But the Afghani dish Ghabeli polo was delicious, especially the rice topped with almonds, pistachios and raisins and saffron. The meat was okay and there was not enough juicy sauce. Soltani was excellent, but something on the plate was missing.
This is how I have rated the dishes:
Ghorme Sabzi: 2/5 Baghali polo: 3/5 Fensendjan: 3/5 Ghabeli: 4/5 Soltani: 4/5
The salad bar was cheap. They should have added yoghurt sauce instead of that 1000 island dressing, those watery bland veggies and torshy. The table cloths looked cheap too (with a transparent oilcloth on top), and they didn't light the candles on our table. And to add more insult to injury, the bill was expensive. Each dish we ordered costed around 300 kr which is insanely high compared to other Persian restaurants and compared to what you get on the plate. We expect a bit more for the bill, hence why...
Read moreI came to this place several times.
I like the interior of the place - it is a small but cozy restaurant with iranian decoration of all kind, the atmosphere is very authentic.
The choice on the menu is sufficient, Tea and a simple salad bar are included, which is very appreciated. The last time, We ordered lamb leg and gourmet sabzi. The lamb was good, but the stew was so-so. The prices are moderate, we spent below 400 for everything.
The place has a couple of tables on the terrace and a parking outside, one has to pay thought for the latter, would be nice to have a couple of free places for guests.
Overall, it is a nice place with decent service and food. I can totally...
Read moreThe food is exceptional. I don't remember the names of the dishes we ate, but I had a lamb and bean stew with saffron rice, and my wife had grilled chicken and beef. All the meat was cooked to perfection, tender and delicately spiced. The nan bread and yoghurt (which I normally don't care for) was so tasty I finished the last bit with a spoon!
Pleasant, casual atmosphere, good friendly service, and lots of pictures of Cyrus the Great. Definitely a great place to go for a relaxed dinner after a movie, or to discuss deep...
