This is a warning to anyone eating here that orders cordon blue. They use toothpicks to close the pork. Many restaurants use butchers string because of the safety issue with toothpicks. I was served a cordon blue pork chop that had three toothpicks still in the dish. It was not obvious and I WAS NOT WARNED BY THE SERVER. This was obviously a mistake but it could have had fatal consequences. There was no manager on duty. I had to go back into their kitchen where there was light and ask them if they could see it as I still felt it stuck in there. No it looks good. It wasn’t. I began to violently cough and fortunately it dislodged and flew into the sink. Please be careful eating here and anywhere that serves stuffed meat. Most places use butchers string but you never know. I just have to hope the other end of the tooth pick was still in the meat and is not in my stomach or I might still have an issue. It was only the second bite so it is not a review of the food. There should always be a manger and someone should be trained in first aid at least that is how it...

Gass17 is undeniably a restaurant with a lovely ambiance – cozy, charming, and full of local character. ✨ However, my evening visit left me with mixed feelings.
We arrived shortly after 8:00 PM, only to be told that dinner service was no longer available, the Cook has closed the kitchen earlier than normaly 🕗❌ This was quite disappointing, especially as we were looking forward to trying their BBQ 🥩.
When we were finally able to order, we were given a very limited evening menu – much smaller than expected. 📜 While the food we had was decent, the overall experience felt rushed and underwhelming.
Additionally, the staff seemed unmotivated and not particularly attentive, which didn’t help the situation. 😕
In conclusion, Gass17 is a beautiful spot that seems to cater more to locals than to out-of-town guests. 🏞️👋 If you’re a visitor, it might be worth managing your expectations or visiting earlier in the evening.

Read moreWe visited this restaurant for the first time. We arrived around past 5 p.m. and were given the option to choose between the lunch and dinner menus. We opted for the hamburger with French fries, same option was available on both menus.
For drinks, we opted for tap water, which was 300 ml and priced at CHF 2 for two people. The hamburger with French fries cost CHF 21.50 per person.
Tbh, the fries were not what we had anticipated. They were extremely thin, almost as if they were made from potato powder? As for the hamburgers, we expected a hamburger bun since the name clearly indicated “hamburger,” but ours resembled a sandwich more than a hamburger. If you’re a fan of the classic American-style hamburgers, this place might not be your cup of tea. The meat here has a distinct taste of spices, leaning towards vegan meat?, which might not be to everyone’s liking.
Despite these minor disappointments, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and the staff were...
