More than a bakery, this is bread and pastry as your (swiss) grandmother would make it, on a sunday morning in your familly house in the countryside. It is the absolute opposite of industrial bakeries. And their products have a very "swiss feel" to them. Take for example their Schoggiweggli : you can tell it's from the same familly than it's french cousin "pain au chocolat", but it's yet so different. The dough feels much more rustic and artisanal, and the (extremely) generous amount of chocolate and pralin undoubtedly makes for more than half the weight of the pastry. Eine wunderbare kleine Bäckerei mit Herz. Man merkt sofort, dass hier noch alles von Hand und mit viel Liebe auf die traditionelle Art gemacht wird – etwas, das man in Basel kaum mehr findet. Das Team war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit, auch zu unseren Kindern sehr herzlich. Wir bekamen einen feinen Kaffee zum Mitnehmen und haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Preise sind absolut fair für diese Qualität. Ein echter Geheimtipp und ein kleines Schmuckstück mitten in der Stadt – hoffentlich bleibt es uns noch...

Lovely owners, great service and delicious cakes. It is a cafe bar as well. One star is missing because they close too...
