Osteria La Riva — Restaurant in Circolo della Navegna

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant (only) of Osteria La Riva next to Locarno. View is nice and the nearby street is very calm. The food was between quite average but not bad. Nice place to sit and enjoy the lakeside view. But not recommended if you’re after a proper espresso. We had two shots, and both were watery with grainy residue, making the drinks gritty and unpleasant.

The service wasn’t terrible, but the staff came across as indifferent—distant and not particularly welcoming. It wasn’t anything overt, just a general feeling that they weren’t really into being there.
