Good things first: we had a very helpful and friendly waitress who helped us with the menu and wine selection. In the end, we ordered two burgers which had very interesting descriptions. They were unfortunately shockingly bad: the bun was fridge cold, the beef was pressed (indicating a frozen or very low quality meat), the cheese was not melted and there was meant to be Nduja on the burger and there was not. Instead, there was some kind of spicy goop which was definitely NOT Nduja. The other burger was equally bad: made from a local sausage patty, it was raw on the inside, also with a cold bun and also the cheese wasn’t melted. Neither of us finished the burger, we only ate as much as we did because we had not eaten all day and were very hungry.
But truly, these were the worst burgers in recent memory. Simply bad.
We complained about the food and after several minutes (when we just wanted to leave as we were not feeling well) the waitress brought over two - obviously complementary - portions of tiramisu. As we already felt bad after the two burgers, we would have appreciated at least a question for a dessert or something else. My girlfriend felt so unwell she couldn’t eat hers. To be fair, the tiramisu was nice but on top of this kind of bad food, maybe we would have appreciated a grappa instead.
All in all: nice decoration, friendly staff but at least our experience: worst burgers ever. And in the end, the reaction to our dissatisfaction was really not enough, especially at these prices. Update from home: unfortunately my digestion is now suffering from the effects of the undercooked pork sausage, while my girlfriend has a terrible...
Read moreVery good. Slightly hidden away down a passageway, easy to miss. This is not a burger joint, so don’t go there for burgers. A small team working to a very high standard. The menu is fish heavy (and the fish looked to be of very high quality) but plenty of other options, which are more to my personal taste. My choice changed after the waiter showed us the fresh porcini mushrooms he had, I have never tasted better - and I am fond of porcini. Tiramisu is a bit of a cliché as a dessert, but this one was as good as you’d get anywhere. Listening to conversations in the room, we got the impression that the menu was a bit of a starting point - this is we have available today, we can do what you would like us to with it all. Very good wine list, more Italian than Ticinese, slightly disappointing here as I always prefer to drink the local wine - and Swiss wines are amongst the world’s best. We had a Nebbiolo Rosato from ‘Muller’, recommended to us, very...
