Found the perfect stop for pilgrims — Schefer! Their traditional Schafbock pastry dates back to the 17th century, and it’s still a meaningful treat to take on your journey. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. Even with a line forming behind me, they remained patient, kind, and willing to explain and recommend options to a visitor like me.

The quality of their pastry as well as their service is first class. Located in the city of Einsiedeln not far from the Abbey, dedicated to Our Lady of the Hermits, makes this the perfect place to stop for a cup of coffee and a piece of Swiss pastry or a some home-made Swiss chocolates. Definitely recommended!
