We have visited Evolene most years over the last 30 years but with Covid and outdoor eating in mind we must have been extra alert for we had never been to the Hotel Eden for a meal.||The outside terrace faces the mountains and is a lovely place to have eat.||The menu was elegant with a selection of good food without the dreadful practice of overcrowding with too many dishes you just know cannot have all received the kind of careful preparation you hope for.||We chose Croute au Fromage, a favourite of ours and it was superb - carefully prepared in true Swiss mountain village fashion. It was one of the best I have ever tasted and if the rest of the menu was as good, and I strongly suspect it is, then this as a gem of a restaurant with very reasonable prices and friendly service.||The hotel was under refurbishment during the summer and under new management. Read moreWe had our lunch here and absolutely loved it! We had walked down the main street looking for somewhere when we stumbled across their terrace which is a little out of the way from the main road. We found it relatively quiet, calm, shady and very reasonably priced. We were served by Juliana, who runs the hotel and restaurant with her husband. She was friendly, making us feel welcome and answered all of the questions we had. The food we had was so tasty (Croûte de Maison) it came with a little salad which is all sourced locally.
The facilities are good with nice clean toilets and a small play area for the children.
