We went to Nooch on 3rd May for our anniversary dinner. Even though the restaurant was barely booked and tables were vacant, we were not allowed to take a table. Upon asking for a table of two, a White female attendant almost shooed us away while sizing us up and asked us to wait near the Exit gate to get a table (hear hear!). In next 5 mins another White female directs us to the other gate to "wait for a table" in an almost empty restaurant. At this my husband was irked and told her about the other female who had asked us to wait there. Female #2 waves at female #1 and they share a joke in their language. We waited close to 10 mins while all the waiters ran past us with their usual business. Not one attended us.
You run an Asian restaurant and this is how you treat Asians? Talk about hypocrisy! What is with this snobbery? Do you really think Indians who cannot afford eating at your restaurants are even allowed to visit your country? Are you remotely aware of the rigorous Schengen Visa process that Indians are subjected to? What a pathetic way you treat Asians or people of colour, and then the West assumes itself as the epitome of equality and fairness! Lol.
Indians visiting Europe are probably more educated, definitely have better jobs and earn more than the horrible, uncivilised waitresses at Nooch but it's 21st century and somehow White snobbery does not...
Read moreWhen I asked the waiter for a cup of water he told me to serve it myself otherwise he'd charge me 5 francs. He never went to check on us even after serving the food and asking if the food was okay. I had to get up of my table to look for him and even though he saw me walking towards him he kept walking to stand by the cooker and stare at him doing nothing. The last time, I needed him, to pay I asked a female employee if she could call our waiter. I still left him $5 US dollars and 5 franks so next time he serves Latinos he does not treat them rudely in case it was discrimination. It wasn't because he was busy serving other people in fact the restaurant was almost empty. When we were going to pay in cash francs he kind of laugh and said "we only take credit card mam'" like we were supposed to know. I told him we didn't know that it was our 1st time there at that restaurant and than we paid with the cc. I was also surprised he served my teenage son a dish that was extremely spicy, we are Mexican-Americans that are used to eating spicy. I can't imagined them serving that extremely spicy dish to other tourists. Very disappointed on...
Read moreI had dinner at the Nooch, Mattenhof branch on July 17. While the food was truly excellent and the female staff were warm and welcoming, I unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience with one particular male staff member.
When we arrived—at the same time as another couple—we were not greeted, while the other couple was welcomed warmly. We asked to be seated outside, but the staff member (a man, whose name I don't know) told us we needed a reservation. However, the couple before us, who did not have a reservation either, were allowed to sit outside without issue.
The difference in treatment was stark and deeply disappointing. It felt discriminatory and left a sour taste in what would have otherwise been a wonderful evening. I can't help but feel that the staff member’s behavior was racially biased, and that should never be acceptable in any setting—especially in hospitality.
Again, the food was great, and the rest of the staff were lovely. But I truly hope the management addresses this issue so that no other guest has to feel this way...
