Felt like a welcomed visitor in someone's home.

One thing that I absolutely loved about vising Café LIV was even though the food and the drinks were incredible was how the entire experience made me feel like a true guest in someone's home.

For sure, there are an array of things to order to eat (the toasted cranberry and cheese sandwich is so good I ordered it two days in a row) and drink (the chai was delectable) but the real mystique is in the experience of enjoying the serene beauty of Murren while watching a business that literally is being run out of someone's home.

It was such a small thrill when the employee (owner?) said she remembered me from the day before (it really is all about the little things) after going in again but believe me when I say that if you find yourself inside the café early in the morning and the sun is just beginning to warm Murren as it starts to hit the side of the espresso machine and the stereo is playing Françoise Hardy's "Comment te dire adieu" (I Shazam-ed it), as you walk out and sit on one of their open-backed chairs waiting for your order, just sit there. Enjoy the moment. Savor it.

This is one of those places that feels so authentic and personal, and supporting them is a wonderful way to give back to people who are running the cafe from their home.
