I booked this hotel for attending conferences in Geneva because I saw some information that says it is close to international organizations. It is only close to WHO and OIL. Other organizations are not close at all, such as the UN. After all, Geneva is a small city. Most of the housing can say they are close to international organizations. There is no basic dressing mirror or anything in the room, so I can not even match my suit and shoes for going to event, let alone iron.||It is not a normal apartment or hotel. Very odd, out of common sense. The staff kept saying Geneva is expensive to justify their horrible service and conditions. That is probably the only excuse they can find in a decade. Of course, they will treat you in a way as if you are extremely poor to afford other options. ||By the way, there is no staff available beyond the time they swept your credit card. The hotel is in a self-running mode. You enter the gate with a pin by yourself. No security at night. There are zero groceries in walking distance. If you stay here, you will not see real Geneva. ||Some people say it is quiet. It is very noisy inside because the tiny rooms are separated by thin walls. It is quiet outside because it is surrounded by several big cemeteries. If you take a walk after one day of work, no matter which direction you go, you will end up in a big cemetery. ||Fairly speaking, it is worth USD 20 in Geneva, no more than that. If you are looking for a humanitarian shelter, with 100 USD in pocket for a month, that is the place. ||Do not be fooled by the staff there just that you do not know the city and be thankful when they give you a bus pass. All hotels in Geneva give that, and it is from your tax. When the staff say Geneva is expensive, they are thinking of finding a way to cheat...
Read moreI was suppose to travel first time to Geneva with my friend. Was super excited. I was offered double occupancy accommodation. It is mandatory to book the Hotel for Visa purpose so the prior payment was made. My friend had left before me has he was on Business trip and i was suppose to join him later being a traveler who love to explore different countries. Due to some personal reason i had to drop the plan. I put a request to the Hotel stating that i need to cancel my booking. The hotel just denied and said they will charge me for the entire stay weather i stay or don't stay. I felt cheated. I told them that i am fine if they charge me for stay that was been booked. As my friend was staying there for business purpose he had no option but to pay the entire bill. When ask on he desk about cancellation refund policy the reply was shocking. The person on the desk replied your friend was lucky that the credit card information was not shared else would have charged extra fine as well. So basically i was charged for entire 10 days of not staying in hotel. And the cancellation was not accepted. My friend also faced loads of issue as they have thin walls. You can hear people make noise in other guest room as if the person is just sitting beside you, your sleep is hampered. There is no Oven present in the Kitchen. The staff was very rude and no one cares for your needs. Just cause the Hotel is near UNESCO site and other commercial offices mainly the working class stay there. I would not recommend this place to any of the traveler there are much better places to stay at the same cost where at least you can sleep peacefully. I had worst experience...
Read moreThe only upside: The rooms and bathrooms are kept clean. ||||Apart from that: The rooms are ridicously small and not very well constructed. There is always one piece of furniture to hurt your foot/head. ||Pursuant to the house rules it is forbidden to eat in the room. But, the downstairs picnic room is a joke - dark, smelly, no kitchen, not even water, no cutlery, plates or whatsoever, only one microwave and fridges where you have to pay for. ||There is a cafeteria, but it is forbidden to picknick there as well... Same for the garden where, in theory, you could enjoy the sunshine during the day. But of course, this part is closed after breakfast.||There is no place in the center where you can really feel comfortable in the evening either; during my stay I went home as late es possible every day. ||||I will not talk about the breakfast, which is exactly the same every day. Which does not prevent the man who "prepares" it from thinking that he is a cook.||||I booked for one month because I needed a suiss address for my working permit. In the end, I went home for one weekend because I really could not enjoy the time there. After two weeks I left the centre. Of course, you then have to pay another price (which is not indicated in the contract...).||||In summary: Good choice if you don't have another option. Otherwise: Keep away or be at least prepared for not feeling...
