Le Monument — Restaurant in Lens

I usually never write reviews but here I have to because it was such a bad experience. Salad wasn't washed properly, dishes didn't look as the ones posted in earlier reviews but much more like very normal plates that you can get in every basic restaurant (the restaurant does have a gault & millau sticker at the entrance though...) But to top it all; after mentioning gluten free diet from start on my girlfriend got served mocca ice cream with gluten containing crumbles. After asking if it really was gluten free the answer was: "No, it's not". So if someone asked me wether this restaurant is recommendable I'd simply answer:...

Came here for lunch. Parking a few minutes away. Friendly staff. All 3 of us had the daily menu which was:

Carpaccio de poisson Salade d'endive tardive Pecorino et vinaigrette à l'ail des ours Tagliata de génisse Beurre "Café de Paris" Frites Légumes Mille-feuille aux fruits rouges

Starter was excellent, a fish carpaccio and the steak main was also superb with a great butter sauce. Dessert also superb. Overall menu was 55 francs each which is reasonable for the area. Well...
