Booked this place with friends for our last evenings dinner. We were told it was a set “surprise menu” and to our surprise I have to say we were all disappointed with the quantity of the food and the service. The atmosphere was excellent , staff was very friendly , food wise we had no choice so we had to go with what was on the surprise menu. In total we paid more than 300CHF including a bottle of wine. The food we had was very little. Portion sizes were small, and lacked of taste. Starter was this palm sized bread for 4 people with some dip. Next we had a choice, we could either order parsnip soup or a bowl of salad. We had three soups and one bowl of salad. The parsnip soup lacked taste and seasoning. And the main was four tiny pieces of beef (just for one) and polenta, pachoi , 4 pieces of roasted beetroot. The desert was a quarter of a unpoached pear, a scoop of ice cream (ice cream was nice ) and a tiny piece of stale brownie. We had 3 jars of tap water charged at over €30. Total rip off. I m sorry but if this restaurant is on the 2nd on the list of trip advisor recommendations , huge disappointment. I would not want to visit the rest of the list in lucern if this is the standard to go by. I have to say we all felt really really disappointed with this restaurant and the quality...

The occasion was my 25th wedding anniversary. My lovely wife being vegetarian, I was looking for a restaurant with good vegetarian options. GardenHaus was all that and some ! We opted for the mystery 3 course meal and the experience was amazing. Carefully crafted dishes made with wholesome vegetables grown locally by the business contributed to an unforgettable experience.

Our appetizer consisted of a warm bread with eggplant hummus laced with herbs and oil. The bread was crusty and warm, delicious.

The first course consisted of Mancini balls made with bouncy - crispy and golden served on a bed of pureed cabby carrots and ginger.

An in between - before the main course was a cucumber and elderflower granitas a refreshing and such a great palate cleanser

The main course consisted of two tagliatelle pasta sauteed with a hint of garlic served alongside ratatouille and mini corn fritters.

Dessert was an exquisite torte served alongside lemon sorbet.

Coffee followed with a miniscule home made biscotti - could have had the whole box of that -'but may have needed a crane to lift me.

Service was excellent and the restaurant is located in a quiet neighborhood.

Highly highly...

Not really sure how this place got such high reviews, but it was an overpriced restaurant that ran out of meat and lied about being a vegetarian-only restaurant when a neighboring table was being served steak. The waiter said that we only had to pay for water once and we’d get unlimited refills but ultimately charged us twice for two waters (19 CHF total, just for water). The waiter also mentioned that dessert was included in the price of the set menu but when the bill came, it was an extra 10 CHF per person. This would’ve been fine if we had been told beforehand about the extra charge and if we hadn’t found a hair in one of the desserts. Overall a huge letdown and the biggest waste of money...

I am not a vegetarian or vegan, but I enjoy an occasional no meat meal as much as the one who is. The menu had only 2 items, a surprise 4 course meal with or without meat otherwise all courses were the same. The meals that we had in Gartenhus were excellent. The chef really made the veggies in each dish shines. Salad was refreshing. The main course was a medley of side dishes and I particularly liked the braised red cabbage with chestnuts, although not AYCA, it is possible to ask for more. The service was also very fine, our server explained to us what each course was. The restaurant situated in an old building and the restaurant grows their herbs and ingredients are also local.
