Yes, Lucerne (Switzerland) is expensive. ||||If you arrive at the main station, dont worry about exchanging your euro's and go straight outside to the font of the station. Walk diagonally right towards bus stop #24. The ticket machine takes both coins and mastercard (you can pay with coins on the bus to the driver if you are running short of time). During the week the bus comes every 15 mins, weekends every 30mins. The bus has a digital screen which tells you which stop is next. Keep an eye out for Seeburg Hotel, thats the Hotel Richemont stop (about 7 stops).||||When walking into the hotel its a little confusing to find the reception/ checkin. Its the glass windows on the right side. The hotel staff were really friendly and spoke pretty good English.||||The room was fairly simple, and we were a little disappointed that the beds were singles pushed together. The bathroom was fairly small (1 person at a time).||||Across the road from the hotel is the sunset bar, a nice place to go sit and have a drink as the sun sets. The weather was fantastic while we were in Lucerne, so we swam in the lake every day and explored Mt Pilatus (Golden round trip ticket). ||||Food and transport is really expensive, so recommend you visit the local supermarket (under the central train station) and take your walking shoes (or buy a day trip) to reduce the cost...
