Ristorante della Posta — Restaurant in Lugano

Unfortunately I have taken a few stars off despite the stunning location was and the pizzas were great. We finished a hike at around 14:30, 12 October 2024 and stopped here. The outdoor seating was half empty with one table along the waterside free. The waiter who was sporting a vandyke goatee and glasses wanted to put us in one of the other tables and I asked if we could take the waterside one for the extra view. His reply was “it’s reserved”. Seriously!! At 14:30 somebody had called in specifically asking for the one lakeside table at sometime after 14:30!!. Total BS!! We sat at a table that happened not to be in his section. He went back to the kitchen and when the next group walked in and asked the different waiter (who was unaware what the other waiter did) if they could sit in that location there was no problem. And in the intervening hour while we sat and had our meal all the other 8 or so lakeside tables changed diners. So it begs the question why the BS? Was it my accent? I went to this restaurant hotel on a recommendation from a friend who stayed there. But if there is a rogue waiter in your establishment who is making prejudgments based on your accents or looks you should be made aware of it. By the way the waiter who served us...

The place has a very lovely back-in-time atmosphere. Simple, cozy, old-school Restaurant. The staff was very friendly and up for joking. Professional old-school waiter (which is meant as a good thing). The waiter and kitchen were very accommodating to our requests, which was very nice! The waiter even brought colouring pencils for our little one. So kind! Food was mixed: ranged from quite bland pizzas to a perfect entrecôte. Everything is made in-house, also the desserts....

Cucina semplice e molto buono!

Di passaggio in zona decidiamo di pranzare presso il Ristorante della Posta. Una volta arrivati e senza aver riservato ci fanno accomodare ad un tavolo e ci portano la carta dei menù.

Ottimi piatti, molto buoni e cucinati con semplicità.

Ristorante con diverse sale e uno spazio esterno coperto, ben arredato in vecchio stile. Il personale gentilissimo e sorridente, il servizio veloce e ottimi prezzi. Sul retro dispone di propri parcheggi.

Ci torneremo sicuramente per gustarci altri deliziosi piatti, forse una buona pizza cotta nel forno a legna, grazie per il buon pranzo, lo...
