Restaurant Kreuz — Restaurant in Oberhofen am Thunersee

I was exploring Thun Lake and Schloss Thun Castle when I was looking for a place close by for dinner. Decided to check this place out based on reviews on here.

I was greeted courteous by my server and he seated me outside. I ended up getting the Egli-Filet Müllerin since it also came with spinach and potatoes. It was delicious! For dessert, I got two large scoops of ice cream and cheesecake. Both excellent! I finished everything.

My server was super nice, very attentive and service of food was quick as well. Most likely due to since there for very little people there. But once I was done with my meal, the place...

We were really disappointed by the service, how long it took for our food to be ready (almost an hour waiting time) and honestly also by the food itself. The biggest no-go was the way our daughter’s food was served, on a very hot plate. That’s ok when the food is for grownups, but not for a 3 year old kid.

The service was rather cold, communication to a bare minimum.

Ich freue mich sehr, dass Sie in Zukunft den Kleinen keinen heissen Teller auf den Tisch bringen, was immer zu einem Unfall führen könnte.

Keine von der zwei Kellnerinnen, die an dem Tag auf Ihrer Terrasse gearbeitet haben, haben uns Bescheid gegeben, dass wir auf lange Wartezeite erwarten sollten. Ausserdem waren nur 4-5 Tische auf der Terrasse besetzt und noch einen drin. Gleichzeitig mit uns ist nur eine andere Paar angekommen und fast alle anderen Gäste hatten schon ihr Essen auf dem Tisch oder haben sie es kurz nach unserer Ankunft bekommen.

Bitte erfinden Sie keine Entschuldigungen für das, was sehr gut nur ein schlechter Tag hätte sein können und nicht der übliche. Eine schlechte Bewertung soll Ihnen nur helfen, sodass Sie in Zukunft ein besseres Erlebnis Ihren Kunden anbieten könnten.
