This is yet another attempt to obtain some answer, some explanation for the humiliating situation to which my mother was subjected in the restaurant facilities inside the Hotel.
My mother's flight was cancelled on Wednesday, April 16th, and she had to stay at this hotel. She arrived there around 9:00 pm and received a Swiss voucher worth 20 francs (absurd) for dinner at the hotel restaurant: Bocca Buona. She was treated incredibly badly by the staff (there were two men serving and a woman at the cash register). I even spoke to one of them on the phone, in Italian, to help her order dinner and informed him that I would pay for any expenses she had with a credit card and I was trying to speak to the front desk. The front desk never answered the phone and this man never came back to her table. They kept asking her how she would pay the difference. She got nervous because she didn't understand anything, she was alone in a country she didn't know and didn't speak the language, she was hungry and she started to cry. They made an elderly woman cry all alone!!! Only then did they bring her a mediocre salad and a bottle of water and even though she offered to pay in euros, they made it seem like they were doing her a favor. She was left there last, no one came back to her table, no one gave her any assistance.
I called the next morning and could only speak to the receptionist on my mother's cell phone because once again they didn't answer.
I called on Friday and obviously the manager wasn't available. The receptionist said he would call the next morning. Obviously that never happened. I called again on Sunday at 8:00 pm and not only was the manager not available, they didn't want to transfer the call to the restaurant and when I asked her name, the receptionist hung up the phone and didn't answer anymore.
My mother was left without proper food, only with a small bottle of water until the next morning. She is elderly and has health problems but they didn't care much. She was humiliated and disrespected by the restaurant staff. The minibar in the room was turned off and empty. This is the treatment they gave my mother at the restaurant.
I wonder what kind of world you live in that you leave an elderly lady in this situation. I wonder how much a plate of pasta is really worth to you. And having worked in a restaurant, I know that you certainly threw more food in the trash that night than you could have served her. And no, not speaking the same language shouldn't take away a minimum of humanity from people. I wonder if these people have family, if they have a mother, and how they would feel if they did to their mother what they did to mine. You don't know what she felt, and I, as a daughter, helpless from a distance, felt when I learned of the absurdity she went through there, in that restaurant. I really want to know if in today's world, you simple managers (because you're not even owners) still think that this is the kind of service that should be provided. You have shown no empathy whatsoever, you are despicable and inhumane people. And the worst thing is knowing that if you did this to her without the slightest shame or regret, you could do it to other people.
And what's more, if I receive a response, you will say: "that's not the experience we want to provide to our guests and that you're very sorry”. So I'll go ahead and ask you: what if it were your mother? What would you do with a response like that? What would you like to hear?
I'm eagerly awaiting it, and if you have the courage and decency, call me, I'm at...
Read moreDuring a long 18-hour layover in Zurich, I stayed at the Radisson Hotel near the airport and discovered this small restaurant inside the hotel. It turned out to be a lovely surprise. The place is very cozy, which was a big plus since the only other nearby options within walking distance were fast food chains.
The food was genuinely good, with generous portions that felt satisfying after a long travel day. But what truly stood out was the service—extremely friendly and attentive, making the experience even more pleasant. If you ever find yourself in the area, especially during a layover, this little spot is definitely...
Read moreThe food was fantastic. Had the salami pizza and would order again, but only to go. They took my plate when I was done, and I finished my drink at the same time. And the. Just forgot about me for forty five minutes. Other tables were seen, given food, and checked out while I sat here with my card out. I made eye contact with the waiter and tried to get her attention but was completely ignored. Have a early morning flight so would have liked the extra 45 minutes to get...
