Restaurant Namaste Schiffli — Restaurant in Richterswil

Me and my boyfriend have been going to this place for over a year now and It is about time we finally leave a review. This place is absolutely amazing and easily the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Not only that but our favourite restaurant ever and one of the curries they serve is also my favourite food of all time. (The Chicken Tikka Masala is our favourite)

We go every weekend to dine in together as the experience of eating there is also absolutely wonderful and also one of the best. The decor in the establishment is so beautiful, calm and very traditional to India. The lighting is warm and welcoming and compliments the decor, and the music played is just the right volume and quite relaxing. The seating and tables are very comfortable.

They also have an outdoor section where dogs are allowed and you can get a view of the lake. The menus are phenomenally written and look + feel quite nice, have a great selection of different Indian foods including vegetarian options for starters, sides and meals, but also some kid-friendly options like chicken nuggets if you have someone whos really picky.

The staff are absolutely great and super accomodating and friendly, they speak both english and german and you can inform them if you have any allergies. They seem to do a Buffet service on sundays but I am not sure if this is every sunday.

As I said the food there is absolutely fantastic and the chefs do a really great job making the most flavourful dishes you can get in the entire Kanton. You get a good portion that leaves you very satisfied and afterwards they offer a variety of desserts including homemade lassi and kulfi, chocolate cakes and ice cream.

To top it all off the location is super accessible as it is right by the Richterswil train station. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone who has a taste for Indian cuisine, you...

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The food is always fantastic! My problem is with the service. Most times I eat here or order a delivery to my home there's no problem. However, one time I waited for almost two hours for my food when I was sitting in the restaurant. A second time, when I ordered a delivery to my house from the website, I followed one employee's advice (I called the restaurant to ask some questions) and left some instructions for one of the dishes in the designated text box. The restaurant completely ignored the instructions. When I called to complain, they simply said that they didn't see any specific instructions (like that's my fault and not their website), and that if I want, they can send a new dish, but I will have to pay for it.

My recommendation is if you have specific instructions for a dish, call the restaurant and place the order...

I've bought here many times in the past and all was fine - until today. Online order didn't arrive for 1,5 hours. When it did turn up it was stone cold and had to go in the microwave. Lamb kebabs (were not microwaved as they were already identified as overcooked discs of some kind of meat), impossible to know if it was lamb or not as it was so dry, served with a 'mint' condiment that was excessively (food colouring) green and completely absent of mint flavour.
