I stayed at the Burgener with my wife for a few days in December and we chose the Burgener because of the location (very close to the lifts) and the convienient price.||||The staff was very helpful and nice to us but, at the time of our stay, it seemed like the hotel was heavily understaffed: the same team manages the hotel, the bar and the restaurant, with the priority being the latter. The reception was always empty and we had to chase the bartenders to get some information or even for check-out.||||The wifi is available only in the lobby, which is very small and usually busy with people checking-in and out.||||Our room was fine, very small but with a reasonable bathroom with a shower (no hairdryer though). The noise from the street was not a problem but we had noisy neighbours and the isolation of the room was far from perfect.||The bed was comfortable but the beddings are awful: we slept under the towels because the covers are very "synthetic" and the pillows are too low.||||The location was as good as expected: close to the bars, the restaurants and the ski-lift. The price is convenient compared to other hotels in Saas Fee. ||Mind that there is no elevator in the hotel: it was not a problem for us but if your luggages are heavy and you cannot carry them up to the third floor there may be no one...

We travelled to Geneva airport and took the train to Visp where we connected by bus to Saas Fee. As the village is car free we rang the hotel and were collected by the hotels electric vehicle. ||The hotel has all the character of a Swiss Chalet and is located within minutes of the beginner slopes and lifts. The meals where excellent and were well above the standard associated with a 3 star hotel (The ladies in the group were really impressed with the Whale liver!). The owners and staff were very friendly, our waiter Stefan was excellent with the children and was always on the ball with the coffee and tea!.||||The only disadvantage was the climb to the rooms on the third floor where there was no elevator and at an altitude of approximately 2000m took it out of the older unfit members of the group.||||The hotel is located beside The Black Bull apres ski bar and opposite the Intersport...
