The hotel is relatively good, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and everything else you'd expect. My main issue, and it is a huge one, rests with the restaurant. We had dinner there and it's an experience I don't particularly want to go through again in my life. The starter I ordered, a simple leaf salad, was so drenched in vinegar that only the top few leaves were actually edible (with some face-pulling), while the bottom leaves, sitting in the vinegar, were inedible. As a main, I had schnitzel with spicy tomato spaghetti. Both were OK, with the spaghetti having a generic tomato sauce with a bit of spice and the schnitzel being rather heavy on the batter. It tasted very much like the sort of food you'd expect from a goodish ready meal. Issue is, it cost 55 Swiss Francs. Fifty-five. That is a tonne of money for something that was not worth more than 10 Euros max. My mother's order of beef marrow looked and tasted suspiciously like pork fat (they insisted we were wrong in thinking that, but my mum has eaten beef marrow for her whole life so I'm inclined to trust her). My brother's starter was a 'mixed' salad which seemed to be drenched in caesar dressing, and so was also disappointing. In the end, the meal, of the mediocre quality described above, cost us a frightening 280 Francs (230 Euros, £180), which sounds like one of those ridiculous 'rip-off' stories you sometimes see in the news. To top it off we had to endure a VERY loud mariachi-type band (because Switzerland is famous for its Mexican culture, of course) and waitresses who met our deserved complaints with increasing cheek and sarcastic smiles. As I say, hotel is good,...

Read moreI booked 1 night on tuesday September 10th through booking.com at 8pm.|After receiving a very long message in the booking app (only in German, and unfortunately I don’t speak this language) and I could undurstand that check in time was between 6 and 10 pm. |I’ve informed them that I would arrive a 11h30 pm, again, trough the app. Since I didn’t get any reply at 5 minutes to 10 I called them asking what was the procedure for late check in. The woman on the phone said that they couldn’t wait that long. Since I was still far away I asked if they can cancel for free so that I could book elsewhere. She agreed.|But after I sent the cancellation request through the app I got another message from them (again, in German) saying that it was not correct from my part that I’ve informed of the late arrival only after they contact me (?!?! I called… ) and that they missed sales because of my booking (yeah, right..) so they refused the free cancellation.|There are room sellers and hoteliers. You are definitely not one of...
