Restaurant La Cordée — Restaurant in Val de Bagnes

We were there a few weeks ago with a large group. The nicest people ended up being the people at the front door taking our coats. The service was a complete joke. Super slow, forgetful, rude and no help from coworkers. The executive chef and his team would just stand in their open bay kitchen and just stare. Very odd. Food was very bland, underwhelming and severely undercooked. A gentleman at our table sent his steak back 4 times! They all looked grey in color and literally wouldn’t cook! Each time it came back we all laughed at the essentially steak tartare being served after throwing it back on the grill. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone. We ended up getting burgers down the street afterward. I’d say save your money- Verbier has plenty of restaurants with better food,...

Wonderful experience on every level. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and that set the tone for the entire time.

All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

The interior of the restaurant is warm and very nicely arranged. You have plenty of space and somehow it's quiet enough to speak at a normal level.

The food from apparently their new chef? Fabulous.

The flavors were solid but not overwhelming. For example, the gnocchi came in a blue cheese sauce that was just perfectly understated.

Outstanding ribeye and a wonderful pork chop.

And yummy homemade fries. Perhaps, these could come with a couple of dipping sauces? Just to add a finishing touch.

Great margaritas... Something I review at pretty much every place I go.

1 stars because the service by the salon manager was atrocious. I had a booking for 6 on our day of arrival in Verbier - flights were delayed so only 3 made it on time for 7:30 reservation. Once our remaining delayed group arrived at 9:30 the salon manager refused to take a food order despite other tables still ordering. He even had the nerve to complain he lost 3 covers despite us spending 900 Swiss Franks, not to mention his tone was rude and really not fit for what is supposedly a premium restaurant

Will go out of my way to make sure I let anyone who asks not to dine or stay at this...
