Don’t get me wrong; this place was a decent one as far as ambience and price range. However, out of the five of us that dined, three of us had very bland food. My wife’s fish lacked entirely of flavor, my pasta side was completely tasteless until making my own adjustments, and the dirty Greygoose martinis we ordered weren’t dirty at all and there was something citrusy in it that I couldn’t quite identify. When we asked for a side of olive juice, they brought a spicy infused olive oil saying they don’t have olive juice. This was not the first five star restaurant in Verbier where we ran into this issue with the dirty martini 🍸 so maybe it’s just something more western and I can’t always get what I want. My deer steak 🥩 was incredible! I don’t often get a chance to order something like that so it was a treat. I’m told the pork chops were equally delectable and I tried a bite of the tuna steak which was damn near melting in my mouth. I’d like to rate higher for service but, after a couple of our requests, a couple of the staff seemed annoyed…even a bit terse at times. Overall it was a good meal shared with great company. My dessert looked and tasted great. 👍🏼 Glad we had reservations because every restaurant in Verbier on NYE was...
Read moreWe went for dinner here after a day of skiing and it was lovely! My friend made a reservation and with my new diet - high fat/high protein/no carbs I craved lamb chops and of course I had to try swiss cheese fondue! And foie gras and the escargot. The lamb I got - was outstanding. Tender, juicy, thick cut that filled me up. The fondue was ok - not a fan of that apparently. The escargot was great, and I also had a bite of entrecote - was cooked perfectly as well. Bottle of wine and a glass of Armagnac each, we left the restaurant full and happy.
The lights in the dining room could use a bit of dimming. That was just too...
Read moreLa Grange is a fantastic 3rd generation family-run restaurant with excellent staff. Well worth booking a table for dinner & going for one of the dishes whose ingredients are prepared over the open flame range visible in the main dining area. One of our party had had a skiing accident earlier that day, and had to be driven from the hospital in Sion which is a 2 hour round-trip. Nevertheless the restaurant kept our reservation open on a very busy Saturday night even though we were an hour late. This was the best meal we had in Verbier and we thoroughly...
