Terrible, costly experience. Nick, the boot fitter, regards himself as some sort of mercurial individual; he is the smartest person in the room, and you should shut up and be mesmerised by his brilliance and his observations. Unfortunately, the reality is that he is rude, abrupt and unhelpful, and, more importantly, gave me a terrible boot fit.
Despite paying top dollar for Dalbello boots and Intuition liners, the fitting was an unbearably painful experience. Was told something to the effect of "it's meant to hurt". Cue multiple trips to the shop to try and improve the situation, all with no effect.
I have subsequently discovered the reason why: the boots he fitted me for were a 26.0 mondopoint, which is the equivalent of a UK7 shoe size. I am, and have long been, a UK10. Absolutely remarkable. It is unsurprising nothing worked and that, to use one of Nick's own favourite catchphrases, attempts to improve the situation were nothing more than 'pearls before swine'.
I now have a (much cheaper) pair of boots that actually fit, and am enjoying skiing once again.
Nick also managed to upset my wife and all but reduce her to tears when she went into the shop separately for a simple boot adjustment by being unnecessarily rude and dismissive to her.

Read moreI had a bike pedal that broke and I brought my mtn bike down to Mountain Air, because their location is very convenient. The guy I dealt with was Jason. Extremely helpful, and after giving me a variety of options, it was decided that the bike should stay with Mountain Air until it could be fixed. For one reason or another, the part was not available, after a few weeks it appeared that part wasn't going to be available, they simply replaced the entire crank - charged me a very reasonable rate. I even brought my sons scooter in because it wasn't working, gave it to Jason, he fixed it better than new, and included it in the service. The good news for Mountain air is that I'm a local, and I'll be for certain bringing in all of my bike business to them, and anyone that asks, I'll be sending them their way. Thanks for the great work...
Read moreWe stayed at W for four days, just across the street, and rented different skis every day. The equipment was very good, and service excellent. In the Premium option we had best skis 3 days, snowboard (too much snow for skiing) one day, as we well as loads of fun on a night sledge run.
We especially appreciated the staff at the rental shop, as they helped us greatly with the choice, and I would like to thank them for their overall " we help first and ask questions later" attitude.
Thank you Alessio, Alfonso, Toma, Joe... and all the other...
