Mountain Restaurant Enzian — Restaurant in Zermatt

Excellent food and amazing service! My group of seven ate lunch at Enzian on a rainy June afternoon. The owner greeted us and made us feel very welcome. I had the ribeye, my wife had lime risotto, others had the pork chop, bratwurst, and goulash. Everything was fantastic; my steak grilled perfectly medium rare. Kids liked their pasta Bolognese. The owner chatted a bit with us and shared some Zermatt history, then brought us a complimentary apricot schnapps tasting. For dessert we had ice cream and apple strudel - also tasty. Nice mountain restaurant, which we reached by decending on a snowy and slippery footpath in 45 minutes from Sunegga. The owner is very friendly as well as his staff. We enjoyed here a lunch with rosti dishes and a mont d'or raclette. The food was tasty and nice, but some of the rosti had been burned at the side. After a 20 min hike down from Sunnegga, we arrived at this peaceful spot with stunning views- truly breathtaking. Philippe, the owner and chef, welcomed us warmly and shared wonderful stories about Zermatt, making the experience feel so personal.
