Reservations recommended but we (two of us) were able to get a table rather quickly. The menu is in several languages so that was helpful to us who only speak one language. Lots of traditional Swiss foods sourced locally. The barley soup was good but the garlic soup was amazing. It was served in a bread bowl and just bursting with flavor. If you are sitting inside you can order the Raclette. Lucky us, we were sitting inside. If you're not sure what raclette is, it is the process of melting cheese and scraping it off onto your food. Potatoes if you're in Switzerland. So we melted cheese and poured over little potatoes. What's not to love? Cheesy potatoes. All in all this was a wonderful lunch with an incredible view. Highly recommend.

To get here is a journey by its own, full of views and surprises. The spectacle of the journey views and sights, is only surpassed by the view here, from the restaurant terrace. Spectacular? World class? Unique? Bucket list item? Yes, yes, yes and yes !! The service, the food, the drinks only add even more to it. Yes, it’s very touristy, you will not be alone. The majestic scenery still surpasses all the hustling and bustling around you. Take a day to enjoy this outstanding attraction.

Completely inedible food. I’m easy to please and this has been only the second time in my life that I had to return a dish to the kitchen (something I hate to do). The “meat soup” is a fatty supermarket maggi sauce and the poached egg wasn’t poached at all. The rosti was an absolute mess, sitting on top of a soup of fat. One person on our table ordered the pork cordon bleu and it simply smelled ROTTEN. I’m not even sure they have a professional cook in the kitchen. This place was one of the absolute worst culinary experiences I’ve had in my life. Avoid it at all costs.

I had a very good experience at Vis-A-Vis today. The staff were polite to me and very attentive the entire time despite I was a sole traveler. I ordered a glass of white wine, Rosti with cheese, tomato, bacon and egg - it was delicious, great recommendation by the waiter who served me. Also the views from the restaurant is beautiful, it faces the snow mountains. Travelers may opt for outside seating if the weather is permissible, enjoying the stunning views.

Naja, für das Ambiente und die tolle Aussicht vergebe ich mal keine Extrapunkte - das ist gegeben. Doch die Speisekarte ist aktuell (wegen Umbau/Renovation) extrem klein! Gerade mal kalte Platten, Fondue oder Rösti gibt es. Als wir nachgefragt haben, ob es nur das gibt, bestätigte uns das die Deutsch/Schwedisch/Australische Kellnerin. Komisch nur, dass wohl die Kinderkarte (zwei Tische neben uns sassen 3 Kinder) sowohl Chickennuggets, Spaghetti Bolognese und auch Nudeln Carbonara im Angebot hatte… naja, und für eine Flasche Wasser 10.- zu verlangen, auch wenn es da oben auf dem Berg ist, ist halt schon kritisch 😅. Man kann da Essen wenn man muss, sollte es aber bei den absurd hohen Preisen lieber lassen. Zudem waren die Röstis nicht durch, die Zwiebelsauce viel zu wenig, und die Getränkenkamen super spät (haben bestimmt 15min gewartet). Und klar, es arbeiten viele Gastarbeiter dort, aber dass niemand dort unser langsames Basel-Deutsch verstanden hat, und wir dann mit einer Deutschen Kellnerin englisch kommunizieren mussten, war schon echt schräg 😅

It was crowded when we went on Christmas Day with lots of skiers and families vying for a seat. We didn’t have a reservation but the hostess worked to find us a table with only a 45 minute wait. The food was tasty and the portions were quite generous. The views and bustling atmosphere was worth the patience and the price.
