Todays menu for 6.20 (more expensive than the 5.40 or even 5 menu from UZH) had 25 pieces of pasta. If you pay 1 franc extra you get 7-9 (!!!!!!) extra pieces of pasta (The fact that I was able to count them should be a dead givaway). The mensa gets subsidies for each of the menus sold and obviously has not interest in actually feeding you. They try to make the people go to one of the more expensive options where I assume their profit margins are larger. The polymensa in the Zentrum (where it actually has some sort of competition) at least lets you ask for a bigger portion for free and you can go and get a refill. Avoid if possible, maybe something changes if they get less customers.

Best pick for gluten free people is the choose5 from the green counter. It is just salads, but yet delicious. Also way more expensive than a green menu.
Biggest problem imo: concept with this many people. It just doesn’t work out. You wait to pick up your food, battle fellow students and lecturers for a table, and the wait AGAIN to give BACK THE CUTLERY and plates.
