新澎湖海鮮餐廳 — Restaurant in Chenggong

No frills restuarant off the main drag. A family of 4 we ate wonderful fresh tuna sashimi, prawns, stir fried swordfish, (a tower of) squid in spring onions and garlic. Fried and boiled rice and stir fried noodles. Drinks. It was really good. There was not a scrap left. Came to just over GBP £40. I am not sure what the competition is like in Chenggong - but it would need to be pretty good...

Went here on a local's recommendation on the basis that this restaurant showcases the best of local seafood. It's a no-frills place with an extensive menu of local catch treated lightly - simple sashimi or grilled without much added flavours. Portions are very large and prices reasonable for the quality...

Friendly and fast service but all the fish was over cooked, tough, and overwhelmed with ginger and onions so you cannot taste the fish. We ordered pan fried shark and it came out as muddy ginger soup. Prices seem cheap because what you get is not good. The only good thing was the sashimi....
