Barcade Taiwan — Restaurant in Da'an District

EDIT REVIEW - 11/09/2023 No major changes - just adding that the menu has changed and become smaller. They now have this killer Tatertot dish that's just tater tots, cheese, bacon, and a massive dollop of sour cream. I think I'll die here (in the good way).

Friendly staff and a Reuben Sandwich that makes you feel like you're back in the States.

Barcade is one of those places where it almost feels like you're in Cheers. To take a quick slogan from Olive Garden; When you're here, you're family.

This bar has a very cosy feel to it despite it's obvious arcade/disco vibes.

I can't say much about the music and the bar atmosphere itself, but the bartenders and staff here are super friendly, the drinks are well priced, and the selection is great.

Where Barcade shines above all else though, is the food. As a New Yorker, Barcade has hands-down one of, if not the best, Reuben Sandwich in Taipei. Oh, and the Wings are good too.

This place is also Pet friendly. 5 out of 5. Would continue to patronize...

We came here for a Halloween party and it was a good time. The staff were friendly and helpful and the decor is a throw back to the 80s with a series of arcade games, a foosball table and a pool table.

The reason for the 2 star deduction is that the place is marketed as a restaurant with a promise of comfort food including wings and burgers. However, upon arrival we were told that they would be “too busy” to serve food. Weird excuse for a restaurant. Fine, we can sort of see a way around that. But the kicker, we were not allowed to bring in any outside food, and they were very strict with that, however later in the evening, the table next to ours had brought in food.

So long story short, management made a poor and weak excuse not to make food and allow food in. I would like to go back and try the food and give a better rating. For now, I’ll have to say it was very fun night with good music and atmosphere and...

Josh was super awesome and professional. He was so friendly and welcoming, unlike some other Western owned or managed establishments here where the owners or managers are a hella arrogant and smug. The HH offerings are great. I had the wing special on Wednesday. It was great for the price, too much food for me to eat. The fries were great and could actually be used to make potato skins, I love as bar food. However, the buffalo sauce on mine wasn't what I would picture. It seemed homemade, which I appreciate. However, it lacked the punch of even a buffalo sauce made commercially. Although I don't like really spicy, I think I'll try the XXX sauce next time as it appeared like the kind of sauce I would usually enjoy.
