L’escargots French Cuisine — Restaurant in Da'an District

It is one of the hidden Gem 💎. after eating, I felt like this restaurant should be on the Michelin recommended list. Because all the dishes that I order were excellent.

I was just looking for something different to eat and I came across this French cuisine. What got my attention was the German deep fried pig knuckle. I have to say this is the best deep fried pig knuckles that I ever had. There's very little fat and the tendon melts in your mouth. And yet the skin is crispy. I also was lucky enough to have one of those special order clams. And the tomato soup was really delicious. It's very flavorful with taste of umami , and yet not sour. And the bread is so good because it's freshly baked and it melts in your mouth. And a chocolate cake or so delicious that they actually put about a quarter inch of cocoa powder on top of the chocolate cake.

Straight forward menu of set meals, soup, appetizer, bread main course and desert and very good coffee or tea. Very reasonably priced and the service is top notch in newly renovated surroundings.

I had a beautiful fish main that was a perfectly cooked white meaty fish. The skin was crispy delicious and the inside of the fish steak was perfectly cooked, moist, tender and delicious.

The smoked Norwegian salmon appetizer was delicious too as was the soup. Portions were perfectly sized.

My companions had a beautifully cooked steak and excellent crispy pork leg perfectly cooked. The pork came with a side of sauerkraut that I will go back for !

All in all an excellent restaurant on all accounts and definitely on my "A" list of places to...

The restaurant needs improvement overall in their service as well as food quality. Technically wouldn't categorize it as French food as it fits more into the Taiwanese Western food camp (has western flare but lacks real taste, complemented by local Taiwanese flavors)

Food delivery was scattered, my steak came out 20 mins before my wife's spring chicken. The steak and the chicken were bland and uneventful.
