Mediocre food, pathetic service in a fancy pretentious atmosphere. I'm a lifelong vegetarian and I've dined at this place at least five times now so this is not a one-off rage post. I pretty much only go to this place when I meet friends because it's the only "sit down" vegetarian place in my neighborhood.
They consistently provide pathetic service and don't cater to dietary restrictions. I mentioned that I have a mushroom allergy and they have added mushrooms to my risotto a couple of times. Seems like they don't care about sending me to the ER. They never even apologize or compensate for making these mistakes.
For pickup orders, they will say "20 mins" on the phone but the order won't be ready for 40-45 mins. Even then, it might be the wrong order. Once I waited for 45 mins for my risotto, and realized they had ignored my dietary restrictions again. The box literally said 不要菇類 but there were fried oyster mushrooms on top. Guess what the waitress did? Just provided a refund and asked me to leave. What an amazing waste of an hour of my time.
For the high prices they charge, the food quantities are incredibly low. I have a very low appetite but I don't even feel half-full after having their main dish. Combined with the awful service, it's really a waste of time and money to visit this place.
They're expanding in Taipei and I guess it's because people care more about the ambience than the food. Most of the regular visitors here are not vegetarians. If you're an experienced vegetarian, avoid this place. There are far better places in Taipei both in terms of food flavor and service.
I'm never visiting again and would rather eat a 飯糰 at 7-11 than waste my time...
Read moreHow absurd can their service be? I walked into the place at 10am. Place was empty. I sat down, pulled out my laptop, since I needed to work, ordered, plugged my laptop to an outlet right next to my leg and started working.
5-10 minutes later, a server comes, with the food, places it on the table and says "sorry, you cannot connect your laptop to the outlet".
Leaving aside how absurd it is that charging a laptop, which would probably cost 0.02 NTs, is an issue when ordering a 400NT meal, I told the server: "listen, I understand it's not your rules and not your fault. Nevertheless, I'm here already, I'm the only customer here at the moment, I need to work for 30-45 minutes and in order for that I need to connect my laptop. The place is empty, I'm right next to the outlet, and the cable is not even remotely in anyone's way, would it be possible to make this exception?"
Answer was, not surprisingly, "no, sorry". I asked again and told her "listen, the food is already on the table, it is really you and the staff's choice whether or not just let a customer who ordered a 400NT meal to walk away only because he needs to charge his laptop". She just walked away. So did I.
Very poor...
Read moreThis quaint little restaurant is small and relaxed with a very modern but fresh decor to match the park view it overlooks.
My two friends and I were quickly attended to by the service staff as we entered the door and spoke immaculate English.
The digital menu holds a wide range of aesthetic (and completely vegetarian) dishes with some vegan options. Each dish looked so attractive that we ensured to order different dishes so that we tried as much as we could.
And what a fantastic decision that was. Each dish was delicious, flavourful, and entirely unique to each other. We were pleasantly surprised at just how varied and complex each dish was, while keeping the same excellent presentation.
For me, the service was a little bit detached and impersonal, however they were prompt and efficient.
An excellent restaurant with an excellent menu. Highly...
