Come True Coffee — Restaurant in Da'an District

Very frustrating experience for just wanting to get a table to sit at. We were a party of 3 wanting to sit at a table and not at the bar area where we’d have to face a wall and not be able to talk to each other. The table we chose had an EMPTY table for 10 reserved on one side and a table of 4 sitting on our other side. The cashier lady came over and said we couldn’t sit there because it’d be difficult for the table of 10 to come in and out. Ok no big deal. We’ll just slightly shift the table over the other end but now the cashier lady said it’ll make it difficult for the table of 4 to come out. But they have the other end of their table that they could come out. Also there was a good 7 inches between us and their table. We asked if they were ok with us moving over slightly. The cashier said no because they could be too polite to say no and then reiterated multiple times that it’s too inconvenient. Like cmon what’s the big deal. How inconvenient is it to move slightly??? It’s a cafe and it’s not some fancy restaurant where everyone needs more than 1 foot between every table. I’ve never been to a cafe where the staff have such sticks up...

Overall, the food was not too bad. The coffee are excellent. Why I gave it one star was because of the service. I bought a box of coffee bean a few days ago. Right before I bought it, I asked the cashier the roast date of it. She said the date was on the bag and deliberately concealing the fact the date was a month ago (cuz she showed the date of another box which was roasted only a few days ago). The place is quite dirty and uncomfortable with a lot of seats without chair back. The employees are wearing dirty apron. I order a hot chocolate and a fluffy pancake. The hot chocolate was quite good but they served it to me separately from the pancake and because I waited more than 45min for the pancake my hot chocolate was completely cold when the pancake arrived.
