May 23 : After being stuck in Covid lockdown for three long years, I finally got a chance to revisit this awesome restaurant. I was thrilled to find out that the food quality was still on point, and they had even added some new dishes to their menu. One of the highlights was the hot pepper fried sea snail, which gave my taste buds a spicy kick. And guess what? They now serve sashimi with shark meat! It was a totally new experience for me, and I absolutely loved it. But let me tell you, nothing beats the steel hotpot seafood rice. It was so darn good and filled me up instantly. The only disappointment was the slightly overcooked prawn that turned out to be a bit hard inside. On the flip side, the steam abalone was a real treat. The meat was incredibly tender and left me craving for more. The steamed fish was another winner with its simple yet flavorful combination of leeks and salted plum. And oh boy, the fried chicken with loads of garlic was a match made in heaven with my beer. I couldn't get enough of it! But the real showstopper was the smoked chicken. It was out-of-this-world delicious, and I couldn't resist ordering another round. I just couldn't stop myself from devouring that chicken. All in all, it was a fantastic dinner experience, and I'm already counting down the days until I can come back for more.
Nov 2019: This is my favourite seafood restaurant whenever I visit to Hsinchu. A real gem hiding behind main street at Nanliao. Served very great and fresh seafood daily, you have to see what they catch that day and you get to choose what you like outside his store aquarium. The seafood hotpot rice is very unique and delicious, the clam was so good and of course the fish soup noodle with lots of peppercorn taste really good. They also served sashimi too.. The crab is fresh and tasty.. I also love the fresh free range chicken .. the meat is chewy come with layer of fatty skin and if you dare to eat .. so yummy! The fried abalone and squid is out of the world! The owner becomes a personal friend and always give us free drink from the left over whiskey bottle on their shelf. They don’t accept credit card but cash. Reasonable cost , cozy environment and high quality seafood...

去過金運兩次了,一開始純粹是因為不想在南寮漁港裡面「被貴」,於是在google地圖搜尋附近的海產店,沒想到意外發現了一家可能是只有「巷子裡」的饕客知道的店。通往金運的巷子實在是太隱密,第一次去時google地圖還帶錯路,打電話跟老闆娘研究了許久,折騰了好一會才找到。巷口的招牌不顯眼,基本上晚上應該是看不到,可能是老闆擔心客人太多做不來吧。
第二次去一行12人,點了十來道菜,最後結帳時是6900,平均每人600左右,以這麼新鮮的食材而言,其實不算貴。
以下是我記得的菜色: 新鮮海瓜子(甜) 野生鳳螺(清蒸,帶著一點淡淡的海水鹹味,有別於一般常吃的鹽烤,吃到更多食材的原味 鮮蚵(清燙卻一點腥味都沒有,老闆堅持不炸,應該是想讓客人吃到食材的原味吧) 烏賊or小管(每隻都像烤香腸這麼大,裡面還都帶卵,超驚艷) 紅甘魚(生魚片+清蒸兩吃,秒殺) 土魠魚酥(超驚艷x2,如果不說是土魠魚,還因為是鹹酥雞) 米粉(裡頭的芋頭太銷魂) 海鮮煲飯(秒殺) 草蝦(清蒸,新鮮,中規中矩) 炒高麗菜、水蓮
