6owl door Hsinchu Guangfu Branch — Restaurant in Hsinchu

I visited the Guangfu Branch of 6owl door hot pot with two foreign friends. It’s located right by the main road, so it’s easy to find. The place looks clean and modern, with a typical hot pot setup. After waiting in line for a few minutes, we were seated. However, no staff came to explain the ordering process or offer help. We were just left alone.

Eventually, I noticed a QR code on the table and scanned it — only to find that the digital menu was entirely in Chinese with no English option. This was frustrating, especially since the staff didn’t give any heads-up or offer assistance. I had to go to the counter to ask for a paper menu, and only then could we manually write down our order.

After placing our order and paying, we got a dish we didn’t order at all. I suspect it was from a previous customer’s paper that hadn’t been erased properly. On top of that, my sister found a small plastic-like object in her rice — definitely not something you want to see while eating.

The food itself was alright. The soup base was flavorful, and the ingredients were fresh. They offer unlimited self-service items like drinks, rice, noodles, glass noodles, popcorn, and ice cream — which is a great value if you’re really hungry.

The biggest issue wasn’t the language barrier — that’s understandable — but the staff’s attitude. Several of them looked annoyed and seemed impatient when we asked for help. Even when we were polite, the energy felt cold and unwelcoming, which made the dining experience uncomfortable.

If you’re a foreigner, I strongly recommend going to their NTHU (清大) branch instead. Staff there are more friendly, the system is better explained, and you’ll have a smoother...

I used to go here…only problem is the parking. There is no parking space near the restaurant. The nearest parking lot maybe around 1km by walking distance. But the food is ok, the Mala soup is really good. The meat seems not premium but it is acceptable. I like the combination of the dishes. They have free beverages, snacks and ice cream. ⚠️店面門口會開罰單❌萬不可停機車⚠️光復路這家自助吧檯有供應冬粉，冰淇淋也好吃。客人用餐水準不錯。食材也新鮮好吃。 但剛剛竹北店， 一到用餐時間，剛進店的小男孩立刻在店內狂奔直往醬料區去， 當場差點用臉撞到剛裝出來的95度熱咖啡， 然後男孩立馬隨便丟一句對不起， 根本正臉都沒有看一眼也沒有停下來半秒就溜走了。 這狀況表示兒童在生活中經常做出這種行為， 並且從未被家長嚴肅糾正過（時間：端午連假週日下午17：20左右黃衣小男孩， 該家長另一子女小女孩也會店內奔跑只是沒那麼快，明明他們小孩子自己手上拿了東西就會慢慢走，但仍多次在來回店內疾走。強烈建議保留影片以免未來發生事故推託給店家） 建議該店面下午離峰時段，改為開放店內遠離醬料區的位置給顧客， 而醬料區座位留給家庭客，帶小孩入座緊鄰飲料區，比較不易發生奔跑問題。 此案2位家長座位均背對醬料區。該男孩會站著煮食火鍋。家裡還有一位大哥哥，位置理應看得到弟妹的奔跑行為.） 希望連鎖店的循環音樂播放增加提示， 餐期時間友善提醒：請勿讓小孩在店內奔跑，以免發生危險。 店家實在不該因為這類慣犯小孩使用保險賠償意外受傷事故。 發生事故他們倒是應該賠償店家聲譽才對。 以上事件發生在竹北東興店，寫下來希望竹北家長可以多加注意小孩的用餐行為。 附近其他連鎖店面例如五花馬，一喜鍋，騎車過去透明玻璃看到坐滿顧客，也沒有看見任何小孩會這樣奔跑。但竹北那家連鎖店店會，而且同時還有4-5個小孩進店都會。 希望業者看見...
